Cut it up and stir fried it with lots of green pepper, a little
garlic, msg and dried, crushed red chilies. Added some low sodium soy
sauce near the end (low sodium because more flavor per amount of
saltiness). My 5 YO said, "Ew." He doesn't like anything resembling
Chinese takee outee.

Takee outee? Nice to see that you have a real flair for sensitivity towards
immigrants. Sure sets a good example for your 5 year old. Do you also pull
at the outsides of your eyes when you ask him if he wants "Chink" food?

Hey, listen dude. There is--or at least used to be--even a chain
called Takee Outee, owned by Chinese Americans. That was to
distinguish Chinese-American take out from more authentic Chinese,
such as this place:
http://stlouis.citysearch.com/profile/37157449/
My son WILL eat the food there.

I didn't raise him to be racist, and in fact he's shown no indication
that he even notices such things.

OK, I Googled takee outee. I invite you to do so as well.

He also knows the difference between "real" Mexican food and
Americanized Mexican food.

I'm laughing right now because he's in his bedroom with the girl next
door who is his same age. It's the first time they've hung out
together because they just moved in a few weeks ago. He's playing a
CD of my band, and singing along, and it's a real hoot. He just put
on a song called Welcome to Our World that is about as blatantly
sexual...He has no clue what the words mean.

Welcome to Our World

I do what you let me, girl,
I do what I can
I have to confess that
I'm a yes man

Step on in
Welcome to our world
We're all suckers for pretty girls
Just lay back
And let me . . .
If you ain't bein' kissed now
What a waste!

I don't have no guilt, baby,
I don't give a damn
Just give me the chance and
I'll say, "yes ma'am."

Step on in
Welcome to our world
We're all suckers for pretty girls
Just lay back
And let me . . .
If you ain't bein' kissed now
What a waste!

Who are the myst'ry boys, and,
Which one is where?
It's feelin' too good, you
prob'ly don't care.

Who are the myst'ry boys?
You know how to play. Don't just
Want you to come, we
Want you to stay

Step on in
Welcome to our world
We're all suckers for pretty girls
Just lay back
And let me have a taste
If you ain't bein' kissed now
What a waste!

Now he's playing and singing along to Wash You Like a Cat. I'll let
you guess about those lyrics.

I bet that there are plenty of natively born Americans with Chinese
ancestors who'd be rolled into the same category. They cook differently
though.

OK - I Googled it, and you're right. Sorry dude. I never heard of that
chain - guess we don't have them in New England. It is a horrible name
though, but no fault of yours. Geez, and I remember Chinese people getting
all upset about Rosie O'Donnell and her "Ching chang chong" comment. That
restaurant name is no better. But, again, my apologies.

No problem. Hey, do you remember the K-Mart commercials from a few
years ago that had Rosie O'Donnell and Penny Marshall? K-Mart found
the two most unattractive women on the planet. If it'd been me and
those two as the only humans left, our species would die out.

Yeah, they're both two baggers, for sure. But before Rosie got so
aggressive and coarse, I enjoyed her passion for good Broadway music.
And Penny Marshall has a gift making films. I'll give them both credit
for that.

Most people have no problem with small amounts. I don't. What it
does is extend the flavor of the pork. More meaty taste with less
meat used. A little bit goes a long way. I'd say I used about 1/8t
in the whole thing, which was made with two whole large green bell
peppers. If you think you're sensitive, by all means avoid it.

I wasn't trolling - I even apologized after I read his reply about the name
of the restaurant. WTF are you talking about how that shows my prejudices?
Where did I make any kind of prejudiced remark?

Mr. Wertz is grouchy. Not just when people deserve it, like I am, but
mean old man grumpy :)

"Chink" food is racist.

Um, the correct nomenclature is "Chinks"... as in howzabout we go eat
some Chinks.

Enjoy: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=chinks

Pass the pigeon blood (soy sauce). hehe

There was a little place in Houston, years ago, run by Chinese people,
called Chang's Takee Outee. Very good food too.
