Default Ratatouille, the movie

There's a Turkish dish called Imam Bayildi that is very similar to
ratatouille. It can also be very beautiful when made well--half an
eggplant stuffed/topped with julienned onions and red and green
peppers, chopped tomatoes and whole garlic cloves. I turned a co-
worker onto it. She also felt a need to add cheese to it. And to cut
back on the oil. My Bulgarian friends also know of it and make it (and
tell me it can be made with zucchini, as well). Here are links to a
couple versions. Cutting back on the oil is not permitted.

I loved it. Especially the very ending monologue by I won't say who
(no spoilers).

Nancy, I read the thread and, unfotunately can't help place any of the
cartoon chefs in relation to real-life chefs but what a marvelous
film.

I thought it was fun, and so well written. At some point it struck me
that maybe a couple of the chefs were drawn from some real life
person, but probably not from the responses I got. Thanks.

Curt,

Interesting to see YOU here... ;-)

Now you may learn what one of the major "secrets" JMW gets to hold over
my head...

I heard "somewhere" that the voices of some characters (I haven't seen
the movie yet so I don't know the characters) WERE done by some famous
chefs. And they were different chefs depending on the country the film
was destined for.

Well, jeez, Nancy didn't give a clue as to what more information she was
seeking; and in light of that I don't think Zippy's reply was so awful.

In the eGullet thread they mention this. For the American version, the
chef was Thomas Keller. In the British version, it is Jamie Oliver.
For the Spanish version, it is Ferran Adria, the god of molecular
gastronomy.

There may have been others, but those are the ones that were mentioned
the most.

no, no , no, Remy is the rat and is NOT Bobby Flay....appearance
wise....Linguini is Bobby Flay..but yes, heart and soul wise, I think
Bobby would agree that Remy is Bobby.

Of course, I meant Linguini. I'm that bad with names.
