It can also be very beautiful when made well--half an eggplant stuffed/topped with julienned onions and red and green peppers, chopped tomatoes and whole garlic cloves. I turned a co- worker onto it. She also felt a need to add cheese to it. And to cut back on the oil. My Bulgarian friends also know of it and make it (and tell me it can be made with zucchini, as well). Here are links to a couple versions. Cutting back on the oil is not permitted. http://www.cliffordawright.com/recip...m_bayildi.html http://www.recipezaar.com/25537 http://recipes.epicurean.com/recipe/...m-bayildi.html > > - Sharon > "Gravity... is a harsh mistress!" -bwg |

I thought it was fun, and so well written. At some point it struck me that maybe a couple of the chefs were drawn from some real life person, but probably not from the responses I got. Well, jeez, Nancy didn't give a clue as to what more information she was seeking; and in light of that I don't think Zippy's reply was so awful. -- -Barb, Mother Superior, HOSSSPoJ http://www.jamlady.eboard.com - story and pics of Ronald McDonald House dinner posted 6-24-2007 |

In the British version, it is Jamie Oliver. For the Spanish version, it is Ferran Adria, the god of molecular gastronomy. There may have been others, but those are the ones that were mentioned the most. Christine |
