![]() I was watching Lidia Bastianici to day on the local pbs and had to get this recipe from her web site. I have never made a Tira Mi Su before but i think im going to try this one. Limoncello Tira Mi Su Servings: 12 Description: Ingredients: ¾ Pasteurized egg yolks 1 ½ cup pasteurized egg whites 1 cup sugar zest of three lemons 1 ½ tsp. Lemon oil 35 ladyfingers 2 lb. Marscapone cheese 4 cups Limoncello liquor 2 cups simple syrup Directions: Whip whites and ½ cup sugar until stiff peaks form Mix yolks with remaining sugar, add marscapone cheese, lemon oil and lemon zest. Mix well making sure that there are no lumps. Fold in whites. Combine the four cups of Limoncello liquor with the 2 cups of simple syrup (this will be used to moisten the lady fingers) After dipping the lady fingers in the mixture form one layer of lady fingers at bottom spread a layer of the lemon marscapone on top repeat once. Reserve leftover Limoncello mixture. You should let the tira mi su set for at least 2 hours before serving, overnight is ideal. Candied lemon chips (for garnish) slice lemon into very thin slices dip into 3 cups simple syrup lay flat on silk pad lined sheet tray and bake at 200 degrees until crisp, about 2 hours. Candied kumquats cut kumquats in half and remove pits. Place in pot with 3 cups simple syrup (enough to cover kumquats) and let simmer slowly, cook the kumquats until they become translucent Take left over Limoncello and simple syrup mixture and add 1 tsp. of cornstarch for a sauce to garnish the plate. |

I used to waste potatoes over cooking them with my pot roast till i watched her do the pot roast without the potatoes, take the fully cooked pot roast out of its braising liquid and then put thick slices of potatoes in to cook till just done. On today's show she did a rolled, stuffed beef pot roast, stuffed with olives and mushrooms and then braised. I intend to try that. As well as her roasted garlic & chicken stock sauce for fresh green beans. I believe its episode #111 and while i was able to find the Tira Mi Su recipe i cant seem to locate her stuffed pot roast recipe. -- JL |

I might have it. I have her latest cookbook, and I can look through it and see if it is in there. I hate typing in recipes though, so if I find it, it might be easier for me to scan it and send it to you as a pdf file. Would that work for you? Christine |

After the beef was finished she removed it added tomato paste to the remaining braising liquid and thickly sliced potatoes, it looked very good. -- JL |

Maybe you watched two different shows and didn't notice. 111: BIGOLI JUST FOR ME Lidia serves a luscious bowl of pasta filled with hearty chicken livers, but save room for dessert because she's cooking up a tasty Limoncello Tiramisu. And her visit to the Veneto area is exactly where the famous tiramisu was born…but this twist with limoncello is a real delight. 123: GOULASH, ITALIAN-STYLE Travel to Trieste and discover the secret behind Italian-style goulash. Lidia shows us how to serve up this meaty dish with a side of delicious potatoes. This isn't just your typical meat and potato dish! Hope that helps! I'll email you the doc I found with episode descriptions. ![]() -- A husband is someone who takes out the trash and gives the impression he just cleaned the whole house. |

Yeah, Joseph. I can find the recipes for the Tiramisu and the other recipes that sf mentions, in the new book. But nothing like what you are describing. She does have a pot roast recipe in there, braised in Barolo, but it isn't rolled or anything. And no olives.... The book is divided into the different sections of Italy, and the dishes from that area. The ones sf saw are in one little area of Italy... The pot roast, if it is what you saw, is from another area of Italy. Christine, who is also confused with what you saw... |

I did turn the show on late and only saw her at the end of the show preparing to serve the pot roast, i did not see the part where she made it. But it was on the same show with the Tira Mi Su. -- JL |

Sounds like it may be tasty, I have to say, but it is *not* Tira Mi Su. It really irks me when television and celebrity chefs make something that has one or two similar ingredients to the original dish and then call it by that name! No offense to you, of course ![]() kimberly -- http://one.revver.com/watch/324733/flv/affiliate/99865 "I think that's my bathing suit. Is that one of my bathing suits?
