Because two loud-mouthed, off-key braying north-end-of-a-southbound-mules were going to such extremes to point out my anti-fan club? While I enjoy his stories, I'm sure there are plenty of us who could supply equally humorous, touching and delightfully written stories about our own families. I know I can<g>. But I do try to keep mine at least vaguely related to food and kitchen (dh & the knife, etc.). Might be less need for special surveys and flame warring if Ranger could keep that in mind. Better yet, how about setting yourself up a website to post your stories to, or a blog, and adding the url to your .sig? Best of both worlds. Those of us who enjoy your parenting tales get to read them, and those who don't have slightly less to carp about. (Notice how I managed to make this a "food" post by adding "carp"?) ;-) maxine in ri |

Heck, I block entire threads after a few days just because I'm completely bored with them. I don't have a problem doing it and I don't make a grand announcement when I do. As for Rangers posts. I read them the first time around but I ignor them now (they aren't filtered out)... and I still think he's one heck of a writer. Rosie is right. If you don't like his stories, kill the thread as soon as you see it. If you don't like Ranger's posts in general, set up a kill author filter. -- A husband is someone who takes out the trash and gives the impression he just cleaned the whole house. |

A newcomer wouldn't know OT or spam was unwelcome if they pulled this group up to read. How could it be if *some* "long time participants" are encouraged to post crap but others discouraged? Heck- we even have "regulars" who post some of the most inane crap and urban legends out there! You know, those "Don't buy gas on this day" type pleas? So being a "regular long term poster" isn't exactly much of a reference either. |
