So using your logic on Off Topic posts, spammers are welcome here too, eh?

Most threads end up Off Topic - remember thread drift. Heck, I block
entire threads after a few days just because I'm completely bored with
them. I don't have a problem doing it and I don't make a grand
announcement when I do. As for Rangers posts. I read them the first
time around but I ignor them now (they aren't filtered out)... and I
still think he's one heck of a writer. Rosie is right. If you don't
like his stories, kill the thread as soon as you see it. If you don't
like Ranger's posts in general, set up a kill author filter.

Goomba has too much fun bitching...

Talk about pot-> kettle -> black.

All the whining takes up more space than the original OT posts.
Evidently she is incapable of learning to use killfiles...

Thought she was edumacated!

Whining is also OT.

Wrong. Topicality is ALWAYS on-topic. It has been always, and HAS to
be. If you can't discuss what is and isn't topical in a group, then
what's the point of different groups?

Thread *drift* is entirely different, IMO, than the blatant introduction
of OT posts.

Oh come on! When an OT post is introduced as such by a long time
particapant of the group you know it's not SPAM because it has OT in
the header, so you can filter or not.

Again, blatant introduction of OT posts is cheapening this group, IMO. A
newcomer wouldn't know OT or spam was unwelcome if they pulled this
group up to read. How could it be if *some* "long time participants" are
encouraged to post crap but others discouraged? Heck- we even have
"regulars" who post some of the most inane crap and urban legends out
there! You know, those "Don't buy gas on this day" type pleas? So being
a "regular long term poster" isn't exactly much of a reference either.

i don't know how your feed works, but you can usually tell spam by the
subject line, if a message slips by your filters. just don't
read/download.

A person can actually make that decision?? LOL

I don't, so I just don't read most of them. It's very simple and I
don't have to waste keystrokes complaining.

She _enjoys_ complaining...

Or so it seems.

That's really sad. I just started post a bit again after 2 months of
being very busy including moving. I consider this my relax/learning
time. The last thing I want to do online is be negative. I see too
much of that in the real world. Thanks for being such a fun poster
Om.

I try...
There is enough negativity in the world!

The 'net should be fun. :-)
