Rather than the results, I'm more curious as why 1) they beg a survey, 2)
the survey is special?

Because two loud-mouthed, off-key braying
north-end-of-a-southbound-mules were going to such extremes to
point out my anti-fan club?

I already expect Stupiwertz to purchase multiple copies of my book
when I publish. He loves reading every article I post.

One word: killfile. You don't like The Ranger's (or anyone else's)
posts, kill either the thread or him (them). I view griping about OT
posts right up there with *plonk!* posts. Come to think of it, I also
rate 'em right up there with responses to trolls. *Ignore* 'em
already.

OB: Had lunch today at Sapori's in Newport Beach. Wonderful piece of
wild salmon in a lemon sauce with capers and asparagus on the side.
Didn't object to the Grey Goose martini, either.

AAAAA-MEN, Sister, You are preaching to the choir.........OOOOH
Hallelujah.......you don't like what someone posts, DON'T READ IT!!!!! It
seems that more time is spent on rec.food. COOKING frying each others
drawers than discussing pertinent information. Sheesh, ya don't like the
running commentary, don't read it......sorta like the mute button.

Maybe a private email list for him to send his missives along to would
be more appropriate? Then it wouldn't add to the abundance of OT clutter
here?

What about people who come along, like me, and are charmed? If I don't
have time to be charmed, I move along. What's the big deal when we are
inundated by creeps and ads all the time. This is at least sane and clean.

Neither one belongs on a cooking message board, IMO.
The OT offenders all thing *their* stuff is clever, witty, useful... yet
I suspect the spammers would say that same thing. It becomes quite the
slippery slope.

While I enjoy his stories, I'm sure there are plenty of us who could
supply equally humorous, touching and delightfully written stories
about our own families. I know I can<g>.

But I do try to keep mine at least vaguely related to food and kitchen
(dh & the knife, etc.). Might be less need for special surveys and
flame warring if Ranger could keep that in mind. Better yet, how
about setting yourself up a website to post your stories to, or a
blog, and adding the url to your .sig?

Best of both worlds. Those of us who enjoy your parenting tales get
to read them, and those who don't have slightly less to carp about.

(Notice how I managed to make this a "food" post by adding "carp"?)

I certainly disagree with this. It's perfectly legitimate to raise
questions of topicality and express one's opinion on the subject.

Cherry Coke Zero is the worst. You have taste-in-ass disease?

Actually, those aren't bad for a quick dinner once in a while.
We picked one up one night after DS's ball game, and I thought
it was juicy and tasty. And they're certainly better than fast
food. We like the BBQ seasoned ones at Fred Meyer...

I'm guessing you've had them more often than we have -- I think
I've bought them 2-3 times now. But they've always been from FM,
so maybe that's why. I've never tried one from Wally World, and
I can't think of anyone else around here who makes them...

They have their place. :-)

I generally find them to be dry and over cooked tho'.
I'd rather hit Church's.

Because they can be pretty tasty and are very convenient?

Once in a great while, they're pretty good. Especially if you get 4 things
free with them.
