Default New birth in the family

On last Monday, August 6th my daugther gave birth to a 6 lb 6 oz 21 inch
long baby boy. Only slightly premature (her due date was August 21). Both
are doing well and are quite healthy. They finally decided on a name for
the kid last night....Graham Alan Connor...So the kids monogram would be
GACH.

Grand-dad has been out shopping and is scared of next month's Visa bill
that will occur from this endevour. Who knew baby clothes cost so much???
And figuring out baby sizes must be a lost art. Where can I buy a moose hat
and slippers? I feel a photo op in the making.

Congrats, granddad! You're better off buying babyclothes the next
size up from what your child is. My husband's first was a "real"
preemie, 32 weeks. They dressed him in doll clothes for a while.
He's 6'4 now, and about to get engaged.

2 weeks early is mainly a matter of a couple of pounds and some hair.
All the important stuff is fully formed. Give the cutie a nose nuzzle
from me.

You know you're not asking me, I struggle to find regular baby

Forget the outfits, the bath pics are the blackmail fodder.........works
wonders whenever I get lip from the 24 year old.....just whip out the pics
of him being held in the baby bath sunny side up and he shuts right up.

Congratulations you to and your family.

Popping two weeks early can be a blessing. It is usually quite safe
for the baby and those last two weeks can be filled with anxiety,
discomfort and peeing every 10 minutes.

i hope grandpa bought things besides 'newborn' sizes! from my
experience, 0-3 month size fits for about 3 weeks
moose hat & slippers.... hmm.

WELLINGTON (Reuters) - A New Zealand couple is looking to call their
newborn son Superman -- but only because their chosen name of 4Real has
been rejected by the government registry.

Pat and Sheena Wheaton say they will get around the decision by the
Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages by officially naming their son
Superman but referring to him as 4Real, the New Zealand Herald newspaper
has reported.

My youngest son had a friend named 610. At first, I would forget his
name and I would call him 6-pack. His parents had 7 children, all of
their names were unusual.

Hmmm? I wonder if any pothead parents have ever named a child 420.

When my wife was pregnant, we had first intended to name our son John
Fielding, after an ancestor. One day we decided that that name
sounded too, I don't know, third generation Harvard legacy. Instead,
we decided to give him a Rock'n Roll sounding name, Johnny Falcon.

Congrats! Enjoy the new addition.

Didn't you know that's what grand-dads are for? Buying lots of fun and
expensive things.

I'm wondering, is there such a thing as an "old" birth in the family??
I guess we're all old births, some older than others (such as Sheldon),
but we just don't talk about it that way.

Congrats, Alan. I became a great uncle last month, but that doesn't
count, as you know.

Good luck with the Visa bill.

Aw, babies don't need shoes, IMHO. A few people bought them for
DS when he was a baby, but I couldn't see the point. And he learned
to walk at 10 months, so not wearing shoes didn't hurt him. OTOH,
they're so darn tiny and cute!

Congrats, Alan -- I"m very happy for you and your family... :-)

Baby shoes always remind me of one Sunday morning when we were at
Friends meeting for worship (Quakers)*, and there was a baby who was
making noise by kicking her little baby shoe on the pew. The mother
did the one least controlling thing she could do to rectify the
problem. She very gently slipped the baby's shoe off, and let it
continue to kick. Sweet person that woman.

I saw a baby wearing little mittens the other day -- I guess they are to
keep from scratching its little face?
Has anyone done this? Is this something new -- or ?

my newborn grandkid has to wear socks on his hands to stop the face
scratching as no time to get him any mitts yet...so I'd say it isn't new
