Default Where can I get recipe pictures?

Does anyone know a cheap place to purchase pictures from? I am looking
at pictures of meals/ingredients for our recipe section. I have been
given a few sites, but they were very expensive. Our forum is fairly
new and will not be having any paid advertising or adword links.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Take pictures as you cook the recipes.

That sounds reasonable until you are actually cooking for money and trying
to serve a group. You need an extra person to shoot and they get in the
way.

Try istockphoto.com

I wonder.

Here is posting history in approx. last year
http://shorterlink.co.uk/12904
Or

http://groups.google.ca/groups?as_q=...d&hl=en&as_epq

axm=8&as_maxy=2007&safe=off

If I had a forum I would be taking my own pictures or asking
someone from the forum to do so. Or even a neighbor.
Sounds like a strange request to me.

Ah, another gmail/googlemail user. I guess a bunch of you must have
graduated from high school. Stick together while ripping off other people's
images. And make no mistake, offering to pay for food pictures then
publishing them as your own is NOT a good idea. If you can't cook, get out
of the so-called catering business. Probably serve a bunch of thawed out
frozen crap you bought at Costco and call it "catered". If you *can* cook
then take your own damn photos.

I'm not sure why you replied to me. Paco stated "He's looking to
PURCHASE images. .." above.

I said the above. :-)

I agree. Also... why else would a person from the UK
ask (also) in an Austin TX food group?? ;-)

Sorry, I was piggy backing because I've had "Paco" killfiled for a while
now. Wasn't directed at you, Sandi. I should not have replied at all but
some people just tick me off

I've tried Istockphoto before. They're useful but use a throw-away
email address when dealing with them unless you want to receive
endless offers for stuff.

I do much of my own photography but for my website I use mostly
manufacturer supplied images. I should think that on a forum it
shouldn't be difficult to get members to post their own pictures.
People who like to cook tend to like to show off their creations.
After all, cooking is one of the few art forms that reaches almost
every sensory organ of those enjoying the creation.
