I think I posted a recipe here once for a raspberry lime frozen yogurt.
And I can't find either the post or the recipe around my house. I made the recipe up. It involved eggs, vanilla yogurt, a basket of raspberries run thru a food mill to remove seeds and the zest from 1 lime (possibly some lime juice too). I made a custard using the eggs and the yogurt or maybe milk and added the raspberry puree and lime and maybe half and half...I think. But I can't remember what else. I have found a frozen orange yogurt recipe that is similar in that it uses eggs and zest...Once my new ice cream machine gets here I will attempt the orange yogurt recipe and also try to re-create the raspberry one. I really hope to re-discover the raspberry lime recipe as it was a very good recipe...a strong taste of raspberry and an after taste of lime....very refreshing Well here is the orange frozen yogurt recipe and if anyone has my raspberry lime one please post it. 2 egg yolks 1/3 cup brown sugar packed 1/2 cup milk (2%) 1 1/4 cups yogurt 1 tbsp orange zest 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice 1/4 cup granola Wisk together the yolks and the sugar till pale yellow and thickened. In a medium sauce pan over medium low heat, heat the milk untill it has bubbles around the edges. Gradually wisk into the egg mixture Return the entire mixture to the pan and cook over low heat untill it thickens enough to coat a wooden spoon whil stirring constantly. Strain into a bowl and refrigerate over night till well chilled. Stir in the yogurt, orange juice and zest and transfer to ice maker...proceed following manufacturer's instructions. -- The house of the burning beet-Alan It'll be a sunny day in August, when the Moon will shine that night- Elbonian Folklore |

Here's one from this group in 2005 http://groups.google.ca/group/rec.fo..._thread/thread /e131954c8ee08a07/0e8c5d5b41ff0ae4?lnk=st&q=&rnum=2&hl=en#0e8c5d5b4 1ff0ae4 Recipe quoted below. Raspberry Frozen Yogurt from http://www.makeicecream.com/rasfrozyog.html 3 cups raspberries (12 oz weight or 2 small pkgs) makes about 1 cup puree 2/3 cup sugar 1 tablespoon cornstarch 1 cup milk (I used evapored milk) 1/4 cup corn syrup 1 cup plain yogurt (I used vanilla flavored low fat) I added the zest of 1 lime In food processor purée the raspberries for about 1 minute or until smooth. Strain and discard seeds. Set aside. Combine the sugar and cornstarch in a small saucepan. Add the milk and bring to a boil. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat. Stir in raspberry purée and corn syrup and zest. Let the mixture cool completely. Combine the raspberry mixture and yogurt in a bowl; stir well. Cover and chill 8 hours. Pour raspberry mixture into a ice cream machine. Freeze according to manufacturer's instructions. |

I must thank you for finding this....thank you, I looked a long hard time for this, never finding it. And I jones-ed for this recipe repeatedly in its'absence. It doesn't look as impressive as I remember it tasting but, I did like it and I will make it again. But first I will modify that orange yogurt recipe I posted...replacing the orange zest with zest of 1 lime and the 1/4 cup orange juice with 1 cup or 2 (6 oz pkg) raspberries pureed then seeded and reduce the yogurt to 1 cup vanilla yogurt. That is if I like the results from the orange yogurt recipe. There was a thread a while back on custard based Ice Cream or not custard based Ice Cream...the difference being whether or not you cooked the cream, sugar and egg base together to thicken or didn't....Looks like a good thing to play with. -- The house of the burning beet-Alan It'll be a sunny day in August, when the Moon will shine that night- Elbonian Folklore |

You're very welcome. I did search by ingrediants rather than names. :-) |
