Well, I'm back from the Labor Day trip. The food was spectacular, as
was the company, the weather, the creek, and just everything. I scraped my leg up pretty badly (I'll be putting up pix with the food ones within a few days) horsing around drunk. It was a big job for 91% isopropyl alcohol and triple antibiotic ointment. The injury also cut short my gorging on the fried tilapia. The next day we had some visitors, which always means swimsuits required, but they were otherwise very nice strangers. Since I almost never smoke, I just forgot that one good size hit can get me way higher than I ever have any desire to get. The nice strangers offered, and I spent the next several hours being fairly useless. A few of us went down there on Thursday to do advance work. I cut a path back to an area and we pre-dug about 20 latrine holes. The folks who arrived late Friday evening were very appreciative. Oh, another tangentially connected event, I stopped at White Castle on the way down there and got a bunch of burgers with extra onion, since my wife was coming down until the next day, so I wasn't sharing a tent with anyone. I left the tent very open on Thursday night ![]() --Bryan |
