yes, that's why it's perfect for urban warfare Andy. Less chance of
anyone getting hurt and will be no blowing things up, unless it's in a
microwave.

Man. I can't believe people are finally selling those things! Most
people just make them.

They CAN be dangerous tho'. Some one posted on tx.guns about someone
that was killed by one when he was hit in the head.

Pretty! Beretta makes nice weapons.
I leant towards them and Taurus since they tend to copy them for a
better price tag.

Hope you have plenty of ammo tho.
Otherwise, those are just clubs... ;-)

That shotgun, above all, is the most practical.

Is that last a 9mm? I could not turn up much info. on it on Google.

Here's mine, for when civilization collapses and I have to defend
against an army of brain-eating zombies:

http://www.marlinfirearms.com/Firear...ire/1894C.aspx

....and several big coffee-cans of .38 Special ammo for it.

It's fun and cheap to shoot. I really should take it deer hunting (with
..357 ammo instead of .38) to do my part to control the Bambi menace.

Hmmm. Brain-eating zombie deer. [shiver] I just scared myself.

They were all personal weapons that I had in the Army.... along with the
usual AR15/M16's, SLR's etc.

Yep, 9mm.

http://www.berettagallery.com/index.aspx?m=53&did=457

http://www.berettausa.com/

I actually have two spare 15 round mags here that I picked up in CA just
before Clinton(?) passed the bill banning them.

I used to own 2 of the weapons when I was in the States, and they came
with 15 rd mags, so i bought 2 more for each one. The gun dealer that
sold them to me asked if I was going to start a war!! I replied "No, but
I'll certainly be able to stop one" :-)

For your information, Blakey, that is a very good cross-section of about
the only weapons you need for self-contained self-defence. A long arm
for accurate long range work, the MP5's for medium range or CQB, the
SPAS12 for medium range and 'lock picking', and the Berettas for back-
up.

But I understand your complete lack of knowledge on these things. It's
hard to crochet your doilies if your involved with weapons, isn't it?

Go back to your knitting, girlie.

No, I ordered it from KempfGunShop.com about a year-and-a-half ago and
had it shipped to my local firearm dealer for transfer.

I have one of these already:

That and a .22 pistol should do me well.

Sweet.

Love the grandfather clauses.

I have two after market 9mm mags that fit my Taurus that hold 17 rounds.
They were only $25.00 each, new.

Heh!

The dealers at the Tejas gun shows never question people purchasing
extra mags...

More fun at the many gun ranges around, and good for IDPA competition
shooting.

Nice.

My Win .308 is a lever action.
You can move pretty fast with those.

But for more urban warfare, there is always this:

http://i9.tinypic.com/4z8uj4h.jpg

New toy. I've not fired it yet.
The barrel is long enough to take an extended magazine which I've
considered getting from Mossberg.

Roast venison! (on topic)

Wal-mart has some hunting t's right now.
One had a logo "A hunters nightmare" printed on it with a picture of a
deer that was camo colored. ;-)

I should get one, or at least take a pic.

It'd make a cool range shirt.

Good thought, but neither one of those is concealable?
I'll never argue with the value of a good shotgun.

"Are you packing or are you just happy to see me"?

<g>

..22 is not a viable self-defense weapon.
There is a reason that state law makes you qualify with at least a .38
iirc?

A .380 might be okay too. I'd have to re-check. ('course we are talking
about Texas law and they vary from state to state quite a bit).

I used a 9mm.

9mm ammo is really not that bad in price. Neither is .40 since law
enforcement uses that a lot. Supply and demand keep the price down.

Only drawback is that if you are only used to a .22 pistol, you'd have
to get used to the heavier recoil of the larger calibers to gain any
accuracy.

I did recently purchase a 9 shot .22 revolver tho' to cut my target
practice costs. They ARE valuable for grip and trigger control practice.
I got a very good deal on it. SA/DA trigger, rear loader. The cylinder
loads from the back like a cowboy action revolver:
