Default Hand Held FoodSaver Vacuum

Hand Held FoodSaver Vacuum

I can't tell you how much I am enjoying the FoodSaver Hand
Held model which is closing out at $10.50 from the original
$49.99. It is a steal at that price and can be used easily
with the various FoodSaver canisters.

Now I don't have to drag out my Model V2460 FoodSaver and
attach a hose to do my non-bag food vacuuming with the
small and large FoodSaver containers, canisters, and
marinade devices.

The Hand Held model has a stand with a very small
footprint of a large glass. I keep it plugged in on the
counter -- ready for instant use.

To be honest, when I first saw it at a more expensive
price I felt it probably didn't have the vacuum pull that
was needed for the canisters. When the price dropped so
low, I thought I would buy one just to experiment. (I had
though they made a price mistake.) To my surprise it works
faster and provides the necessary seal for the canisters.

Because of the ease of use and the ready accessibility of
the unit on the counter I am using it many many times
throughout the day. In fact, in some canisters I mix food --
separated by cling wrap, wax paper or other film and use
them as vacuum storage areas.

You can see the item on the FoodSaver WEB site at:

I don't know if they are discontinuing the product or not -
- but at that price you will want one.

I've made a home made ring that I use to allow me to stack
the rounded top canisters on top of each other in the
refrigerator. It works great. I made it out of rolled
newspaper pieces taped with freezer tape but I am shortly
going to carve a couple out of Styrofoam for a more
permanent utensil.

I've used the FoodSaver and it predecessor, a Tilia model
for many years. I even owned a SAM (Seal-a-meal) product
once. I highly recommend the entire concept.
