Breakfast was...

A buffalo burger cooked with liberal shakes of Adobo powder, Cholula powder,
garlic powder and Stubb's Rub on a potato hamburger bun with Monterey Jack
cheese and a tall glass of OJ and a multi-vitamin.

Awesomely delicious!

If I ate like that for breakfast I'd be back in bed in 15 minutes. I
can easily eat breakfast for dinner but not the reverse. I'm lucky I
can get coffee down in the morning. <g>

Sounds like a personal problem. Breakfast gets my motor running for most of
the day.

And I only had ONE!!!

Louise is that way too. She has some coffee and eats right away. I
need a few hours before I can eat. When I worked full time I was up
by 5am. I usually packed a lunch and ate it around 10am. By then I
was hungry. That would keep me going until the evening. These days I
more often eat something a bit after noon. Then I get to take a nap.
The problem is I'm not hungry until much later in the evening. It
drives Louise nuts. I eat healthy but my schedule isn't.

With all that powder, it must have been as dry as dust.

You ever tried *real* herbs and spices?

Peter,

Actually I only powdered one side (top before flipping). Created a
wonderfully crispy crust!

Sure, I use *real* spices but not on burgers very often.

I imagine it would be something like trying to kiss Brittany Spears, or
Madogga, on the cheek. Once you get through the cake, it should be
right.

Try it. You'll see *and* taste the difference.

Don't know about your burger mince though..... but over here we can get
some *real* tasty stuff.

Had some '1824 mince' a little while back that I made into
burgers........ Yummo!!

And down in Tassie, I managed to snag some Black Angus burger patties.

Breakfast is going to have to be a big bowl of organic dried cereal with
bananas and milk.

Have to use up the milk and DH is taking up tile in the kitchen.
This type of eating will go on until the installer calls us for a date, as
the floor is too sticky to walk in and out of the room without changing
shoes.

Nowhere, I hope! (If you read my posting about the executive chef's recipe
for beans and rice -- IOW, "open a tin." I can do that.

We will try to work around it. This time we do not have the water unhooked.
Hopefully it will not be as long an experience as our countertops which we
are still trying to get resolved from 15 August -- tireseome.
But hopeful,

Today's buffalo cheeseburger was only a test. Usually I let the buffalo
flavor speak for itself or with some Dijon mustard. No gout aggravation
either. Yay!

Free-range ground buffalo is super lean. Cooked rare and bloody!!! ))

When I know I'm having *good* meat/burger, I just wrap it in a lettuce
leaf.

The shittier stuff, I put on a bun with sauce, onions, tomato etc, etc,
etc.

Since I don't know what a Pom is, I looked it up and see these - are you
asking me if I'm British --

Oh, I get it -- "open a tin."
I've always said that in a silly way, as I used to watch "Fawlty Towers,"
and Fawlty's wife, Sybil said to a customer that he/the customer probably
couldn't return a certain dish if "Chef had already opened the tin." It
was so darned funny. I'm still smiling.

No, but he should have. But the tiles do not have asbestos on them.

A friend (age 59) of DH's died a few months ago summer of mesothelioma (sp?)
because he had been exposed. DH has been exposed to the same circumstances
as his friend (shipping industry).

That reminds me, I have a package of hot Italian sausage in the freezer that
goes great with a box of Zataran's Jambalaya Mix in the panty.

Nancy,

I'm down to 220 lbs. (not as good as planned [blame r.f.c]) and almost gout
free. Only minor gout aggravations recently. I must be doing something right.

220 is not bad at all for a tall person.

Gout in your big toes? or elsewhere as well?

If I drink a certain red wine -- never know which it will be -- big toe will
hurt.
No, I will never drink white wine -- give me a big sore toe.

Dee Dee,

Agreed! The BMI is a little crooked, imho. If I was down to their charted
weight, I'd be paper thin!

Gout began back in May on my right big toe and back along the top about
halfway up my foot. Totally painful and inflamed and gross and crippling.

After treatment, it switched to my left toe with some major aggravation.

Recently it's just a minor aggravation in both big toes, unless I eat
stupid, then I'll usually know within four hours.

I don't take allopurinol any longer.

Weight had to play a big part in my gout, obviously, like Doc thought and
gout played a big part in changing my eating habits, for THAT I'm thankful,
if that makes sense!?

I tell ya. There's a reason I don't make it very often because
I could lay a hurtin' on a pound of bacon. Not good.

I've taken to baking it on a pan in the oven, no rack. I saved the
leftovers for BLTs; all I need is the T.

I had a very busy morning so bought a breakfast taco at a place near
work. Generous portion of shredded Barbacoa and cheddar cheese wrapped
in a fresh made (while I watched!) flour tortilla.

One was quite enough!

For me... a cup of yogurt and a handful of shredded wheat. Had to
bring the breakfast along to the doctor's office, as I went in for
bloodwork and had to fast until that was done, then had to go into my
office.

Y'know, I think I'll go for the eggs and sausage and toast with peach
freezer jam this weekend. Let the blood sugar go to hell just once.
(It IS coming down nicely, both from radical diet change and meds.)

Was someone suppose to care what you ate for breakfast?
Geesh..........you are a lonely desperate person seeking someone who
might be interested.

Go read a book to your kids.

That's just great -- now may I ask you, what does the adjective in this
case, "Pommy," mean?

20 questions,
Dee Dee

That's just under 100kgs. Now, so long as you're 6'2" and big boned, that's
a good weight :-)

That BMI is a crock!!

For my height, I'm supposed to be 190lbs (approx 86kgs) *maximum*!!

I got down to 89kgs (196lbs) at one stage and all my friends thought I was
dying from cancer!!

I looked like a survivor from a POW camp!!

:-)

http://www.nma.gov.au/exhibitions/no...alian_english/

A British person. Also pommy. First recorded in 1912, the term was
originally applied to an immigrant from Britain, and was formed by
rhyming slang. A British immigrant was called a pommygrant, from the red
fruit pomegranate, perhaps referring to the complexion of the new
arrivals, which was then abbreviated to pommy and pom. Although some
argue otherwise, it is not an acronym of prisoner of mother England.
