Seems every time I ate a burger there I get heartburn. However when I
eat an expensive restaurant burger I don't seem to have any problem. |

You eat slower when at a restaurant rather than a fast food > place? Good point, there's that. There's also the obligatory French fries and soda pop that generally accompany fast food burgers. At better restaurants, the fries are usually steak cut, so less grease, and the burgers are made from less fatty ground beef. High fat content, combined with large meal size can promote gastric reflux. Also, at an "expensive restaurant," the burgers do not come pre- dressed with ketchup, mustard, pickles and onions, all of which can cause heartburn, and which might not be added by the customer if (s)he had the choice. --Bryan |
