Default quandry?

So I have that jello brain mold. Which 2 available jello flavours make the
most realistic brain coloured jello for in said mold?

I would use yellow or green and use yogurt or cream in place of the cup of
cold water.
Where did you get your brain mold? I would love to have one.

I got it a while ago and forget some partical joke site on the net I
think http://www.mcphee.com/ .

I got devil ducks and Nunzilla wind up sparking nuns at the same time so
you can tell it wasn't a impluse buy....

The suggested flavours are peach and watermelon and I can't find those in
my smallish local store...Do they still make those flavours? I do like
the yogurt ideal though....I was thinking of scooping out some of the
jello after it was set and placing in some pistacho pudding.

A fresh human brain is gray, but within hours
of death it turns white. (I've seen quite
a few human brains, in neuroanatomy class.)

something along the lines of a creamy tan... live human brain tissue
looks a *lot* like chicken thigh meat. Could you mix up something like
dream whip or pudding mix into a peach flavored jello? Then tweak it up
a bit of other jello colors to get it right?

lol.. a live one looks more like chicken thigh meat to me. First time I
sat in a brain surgery I was stunned by the resemblance. Sometimes I
have trauma patients who have exposed gray matter, or gray matter which
oozes out of their nose or something and as I wipe it away it reminds me
of cottage cheese.
How I ever eat again sometimes after nights like this... I dunno? LOL

If you mix yogurt in w/ the jello you will end up w/ something that looks
more creamy. Another option is to get unflavored jello and use juice or
water . Add food coloring of choice. I guess you could add food coloring
to any jello flavor. I don't see why not.
ok, I don't know why I like the idea of sparking nuns so much. lol
Thanks for the site.

I'll vote for lemon (light colored) made with milk as part of the liquid
(to lighten the color).

Don't waste good Jell-O! Use food color.

Hey, just make some with water and Knox -- color it any way you want
with food color.

Is there a recommended daily allowance for
cholesterol? There might be a recommended
upper limit, but I don't think any amount
would be considered healthful. Your body
can make all the cholesterol it needs from
other materials.

Cattle brain and spinal cord are the main
commercial sources of cholesterol. Among
other uses (for example, in cosmetics) bovine
cholesterol is the raw material from which
vitamin D is made (by UV irradiation of
cholesterol).

I wish I could obtain multivitamin pills that
lacked vitamin D, to avoid any risk from
Mad Cow DIsease.

My co-worker with the same mold uses red jello mixed with yogurt - it
comes out pinkish. Doesn't matter since no one will eat any of it.

He brings it to potlucks.

It reminds me of my experience making kitty litter cake for my 13yo
son's birthday party. If it's too "realistic" no one will touch it.

Do you think that it's funny to post stupid things like the above
sentence?

Use unflavoured gelatine with a little sugar in it.

I have made brain jellos a couple times. once I used grape and orange
mixed together with shredded carrots. It looked great as I sliced it
off serving slabs to folks. Another time I used cherry mixed with
cottage cheese. It is fun but I think I loaned the 2 molds I had to
someone and never got them back. Have fun with it

And although I've never done it, I have a ten watt idea that most
certainly has been done before. Thinly slice up some licorice
lengthwise, roll it into veins and position it in the mold to make veins
in the brain before you pour in the gelatin. Ooooooooh!
This may not work at all. But if it does, you're golden. Some release
agent may be required on the cast side of the brain mold for the veins
to release with the brain into the final grisly product.
