Default REC and Pics: The mother of all chocolate cakes!!!!

*PHEW*!!!! That was hard work!!

It's for the SO's b'day party tomorrow. The recipe calls for a *30cm* cake
tin......... the biggest I had on hand was about 25cm!!

Here's the recipe.........

This was in response to my question "What sort of cake, out of my entire
cake repertoire, do you want for your birthday party? Khalua cheesecake?
Orange and poppyseed cake? Carrot cake? Lemon Meringue?"

Her reply....... "A plain chocolate cake with whipped frosting that's not
too light, and not too dark"

So, I hope she likes it!!

And it was a *huge* hit....... everyone loved it and this morning I get up
to find that there is only a very small piece left!!

I made a mountain of rissoles, a whack of snags and a bucketful of steaks,
and they *all* went. I never even got to try my rissoles (first time I made
them, so it looks like they're pretty good and need to be done again!!)

I doubled up on the recipe.

It was a hot day, and at the end of it, I think I refilled the Sangria
bucket about 4 times!!!
