But worth it because only she can provide the secret methods of which
jar of big box stuff goes with what box of big box stuff and the proper
proportions.

The DVD includes a video from Emeril Lagasse. I can't see Emeril
promoting Great Value brand.

"And we'll kick it up a notch with some Great Value special seasoning"
....and the crowd goes crazy.

I found this link for you since your google research skills are lacking:
http://upcomingpixar.blogspot.com/20...xclusives.html

Also I found this quote:
This Wal-Mart exclusive DVD contains episodes from "Emeril Live,"
"Robert Irvine Dinner Impossible," "30 Minute Meals With Rachael Ray,"
and "Alton Brown Good Eats" plus scratch and sniff character and recipe
cards.

Target is going to have a bonus DVD with the Ratatouille DVD that seems
to be of the type that they had for the Cars DVD (behind the scenes
footage, etc) -- the kind of stuff that should have been with the main
DVD in the first place. The Target web site says that this is an
in-store item only.

Having worked for that behemouth for almost three years, I know for a fact
that Walmart claims to have an exclusive on EVERYTHING and tries to browbeat
their suppliers into only dealing with them. I guess they are hyping that
FoodTV and Walmart are one in the same company now under the control of the
minions of 'Mr. Sam' Walton (who, like L. Ron Hubbard of Scientology fame,
has been dead for years, but it doesn't stop his minions from still
worshipping him and doing his bidding). Also, double check all those hyped
"made in America" labels, on the back of them is stamped processed in China.

Who is/are "they" "hyping that FoodTV and Walmart ..." do you mean
Walmart is?

Do you mean Foodnetwork? If not, who/what is FoodTV?

Thanks.

Thanks for clarifying. But hmmm -- Walmart & Foodnetwork? Well, that
could explain everything!

I beg to differ. Sam Walton's *greedy children* are the ones who turned his
stores into the massive conglomerates they are today. It was never his
intention. He wanted his stores to sell items inexpensively, not get one
over on the consumer and the employees by offering cut-rate Chinese
merchandise and no benefits to the workers.

I've limited my shopping at Walmart's now to one item -- for the last 10
years or so I've not been able to get more than 2 out of 10 items on my
list -- sometimes none. Junk! (Well, not all...)

This item that I have been buying at Costco, I will be buying no more in
probably 6 weeks. It's over, Wal-mart!!

Thats pretty much what I know too. The old man had a reputation for
being a hard bargainer but believed that suppliers had to survive too.
The kids started beating up suppliers which forced them into continual
cutting mode and then either out of business or off shore.

The unfortunate thing is that the "Walmart method" has become a popular
idea in business as others felt they needed to loose their morals in
order to compete with Walmart.

I said the Minions of Mr. Sam, I know he is dead and decomposing. The
problem is everything is done IN HIS NAME....if you question anything, it's,
now you wouldn't question Mr. Sam if he were here now would you? His
original Ben Franklin Stores were decent. That whirling sound is him
spinning in his grave....

Trust me, if old Sam were around I'd walk right up and ask him WTF his kids
are doing. I'm not a shy person, in case you haven't figured that out
Sam thing for Ben Franklin, who didn't invent the 5 and dime store. Heheh

This is for everyone except Steve since he doesn't ca
The Alton Brown Good Eats episode was diffidently worth it. I am now a
fan of his show. Lots of little but important tips sprinkle through out
the show. He knows how to keep things interesting. The other episodes
are OK.

BTW I'm suspecting walmart inserted some subliminal messages through out
the DVD because afterwards I had this overwhelming urge to shop there.
Tonight I'm going to prove it by steping through every frame until I
find the message.

low prices)

In the old days, Walmart advertisted "Made in the USA", and they had it
written on signs in their stores. Not anymore.

Remember the "Walmart saved my job" commercials with the lady at the yarn
factory in either North or South Carolina?? I'll bet she's out of a job now
_because_ of Walmart.

I live in one of those small towns where Walmart put all the other discount
stores out of business, Kmart, Gibson's and Alco. We finally got a Target
but there are still a few things I can only get at Walmart. I'll go there
for those few things and that's it. We used to have 3 grocery stores too.
We're down to the one big chain that can survive against Walmart. We also
lost a couple of hardware stores and fabric stores.

Yeah, it's got to be an absolutely can't get it anywhere else item before
I'll go there.

I'll buy my Ratatouillie dvd at Target and probably get a better price.

Well, I will not shop there. They make a big deal about supporting the US
Services but they do not ship to FPO AP addresses. They say they do but you
have to call them (not a free call either) from overseas to place your
order. They also charge more for delivery to FPO AP addresses yet it costs
them no more than mailing to a stateside address.

Like most, I swapped to JCpenny. They are reliable and we can online order.
The shippage price is the same (as should be since it costs them no more).

Well, I'll add that Kmart does well with FPO AP addresses but seldom has
things i needed there.
