When Barbara Kafka's _Microwave Gourmet_ came out, I bought it, and was
impressed at how the book was able to explain what the microwave oven is good at and what it is *not* good at. The book is chock-full of excellent recipes and tips. Now I'm looking for a book about pressure cookers which has those same qualities. Does such a book exist? Bob |

I'm not sure if it has the explanations you're looking for, but if you want a book with good pressure cooker recipes, I like "Pressure Cooking for Everyone" by Rick Rodgers. There's a recipe for a stew with Pork and Butternut Squash that is fabulous! Sharon |

I find this book really informative, nice photos, and inspirational. I paid $3 for mine and they are pretty cheap on ebay. http://search.ebay.com/search/search...sop=1&f soo=1 Have fun with your pressure cooker. Pam |

"The Pressure Cook" by Lorna Sass, sent to me by a certain rfc-posting someone, is recommended. It won't tell you much about what the pressure cooker is *not* good at explicitly, but in this case, explanations of the cooker's advantages would make the disadvantages clear to anyone who knows anything about cooking at all. The book is nicely written and the recipes are good, too. Victor |
