Great with Krispy Kreme Maggot Sprikles...

http://www.junkfoodblog.com/2007/10/...sprinkles.html

Actually, I'll proably try the 7-Up. The pomegranate-and-vodka didn't
kill me.

I'm thinking it's going to be stronger than your average shirley temple,
though.

It's a Shirley Temple. Been around for 70 years. 7-Up and Grenadine
syrup.

We used cherry juice (not grenadine). Do the same thing with Coca-Cola and
you have a Rob Roy.

Uh, Roy Rogers. A Rob Roy is Scotch, vermouth, and bitters.

I didn't know the difference, but I was thinking that a Rob Roy *should*
have something in it..look at the history!

They have them here also. $2.79 per lb. I love them so it's a shame.

Why bother with the other "flavors" in the 7-up.
Just go to TJ's (hoping you have one near you) and
get their sparkling pomegranate juice. It's really
yummy. I'm an adict.

Interesting that it's a "limited edition". There's a company here
that's just started selling pomegranate soda, and no mention of a
limited edition.

We're in New Zealand, though, which doesn't make life any easier for
you.

Here's the website showing the pomegranate soda: there's a bit of Flash
silliness going on, but apart from that it's OK.

(Oh, and they say on the website that pomegranates are hard to get --
they're not, I picked one up in my local supermarket last week.)

That's alright, although my childhood would have gone by a lot more
pleasantly if I could have ordered Rob Roys instead of Roy Rogers.

I just discovered them, and what a revelation! We pay about $2.79
_each_ for them, as they're all imported.

Maybe someone should start growing them here.

Yeah, if you want to you can make fresh pomegranate juice by the litre.

Oooh, homemade grenadine!

Out yonder in the Great West, men drink Hopalong Cassidys. I had a few
while bellying up to the bar on vacation in Montana when I was ten. The
belles were swilling Shirley Temples. The drinks looked the same, but
mine was much more powerful.

You could always make your own.

I also like a splash of pomegranate juice in my lemonade.

Oops! Sorry. Really sorry about no TJs. Bummer.

If you can get POM Wonderful or some other pomegranate
juice you could make your own spritzer - mix it with
club soda or ginger ale. I often mix fruit juices
with ginger ale.
