Why did I have a nightmare that they replaced it with a Rosie
O'Donnell cooking show. . .Groan;-)

Damn! and I wasn't recording his programs because I thought he'd be on
there forever.

He always made me dizzy moving back and forth looking for items to cook
with. That, and I just couldn't stand his showing-off.
Charming to some, I'm sure. But I didn't think 'kicking it up a notch' with
garlic was exactly funny.

The bad thing is that I know it will probably not be replaced with something
better.

I have been thinking about changing my satellite bundles and perhaps
picking up the Food Network again, but when I look at the guide and see the
programs listed, they are all the same programs that led to my dropping it
last year.

I can't say I ever learned much from the show but I found Emeril
hard to dislike even if I could almost see them holding up the
cards saying "CLAP". The jazz was the best part even if a bit
hokey!

Swell, that frees up more broadcast time so they can put in another

It's probably only going to get worse. And so many other channels are
doing food programming now. Even our local cable news channel just
started doing a new show on Thanksgiving called "Reel Chefs."

http://weblogs.cltv.com/news/local/c...to_launch.html

They've only done a few restaurants so far, but from what I've seen, I
like it more than most of what Food Network has been offering. FN
comes with our basic cable package. If it didn't, there would be no
way I'd pay for it.

Well, lately they have become the "Iron Chef" network, so I'm betting
on something similar. I haven't watched Food Network in over a year. I
read the tv Guide and find soething more interesting to watch. Not
hard to do.

While the show was, to me, not very good, there's very little doubt

About the only thing I see that is interesting to me on an on-going basis is
the History Channels and alas, I've seen them all.

Dish network changed their programming guide and it's frustrating to search
thru since they've decided to go on the cheap. Talk about a bunch of
dumb-heads changing their pretty-decent guide to the tv guide standard.

All this is a shame because I subscribe to Dish 250 and really don't get
much of anything. Certainly no movies that I've not seen.

The History Channel is one of my favorites. When my children were
little, they would call it the Hitler channel.

They were pretty perceptive. Indeed, there's plenty of World War II
covered!

I know that they cover a lot of history, but there are certainly parts of
history I wish they'd cover.
Guess that's what books are for, to take up the slack.

Emeril was still a cooking show. He still demonstrated recipes and
techniques even though he could not usually do them himself. I mean he
screwed up slicing onions. And what FoodTV seems to be ditching is any show
involving cooking. It is all geared towards eating and showcasing eateries
that no doubt pay a huge chunk of money to appear on the shows. So I bet
they will probably give Rachel the Harpy another show but she'll no doubt be
stuffing her face and giggling like a trollop instead of actually cooking
something. Not that it matters to me, being overweight myself, but she is
really packing on the poundage and I'll bet money she'll be cancelled if she
keeps that up. Very vicious those shows. All image.

Send them an email, about the topics you are interested in, maybe it
will help.

A German professor and historian named Lothar Machtan, claims that
Hitler was ***, and we watched his documentary on the History Channel.
Their noses were glued to the History Channel that day. In fact, they
watched it at least twice.

Just give teenagers a topic of interest and you will have their complete
attention. LOL

He's newly married (I think it is new? I saw it in some magazine a while
ago) so perhaps that explains the weight gain?
He was always so sexy before and he's less so now. Less "edgy" or
something too... I still like him though!

Since the early days of the Food Network, it has slowly gone to hell in a
handbasket. There used to be really good, interesting, and informative
programs. Now, at best, it's a collection of "entertaining" drivel.

I have ALWAYS felt this way about Emeril, but I can remember several years
ago when he had many defenders right here on rfc. I'm practically gloating

There is a holiday special on right now and I asked DH if he wanted me to
record it, he say Naw! and I agreed. Tyler was up - and I wasn't even
interested. I know I'll probably have missed something, but at the moment I
didn't even care.

Maybe Chef Ramsay can stop by on Emeril's last show and lead a

His name is Tyler Florence, not Florence Tyler. I saw him on a recent show
and he's gained a whopping 10 pounds. BFD - not the end of a career. And I
bet he is still boinking the chicks he featured on Food 911. Rumor had it
he was having carnal knowledge with the lot of them after the filming, the
guestsbeing hand picked for just such an interlude. He gave new meaning to
eating and running.

How is it you know he's gained only 10 pounds?
And was that just since marriage? He'd gained a bit more before that
then. Obviously it isn't any BFD, but just commented on.
Alton Brown also got porky during the motorcycle road show. He had man
boobs in fact! But he's since lost the extra weight and is looking very
nice indeed on the Next Iron Chef show.

It's a shame that food network has cancelled the show and now that
godawful rachael ray has her pathetic chance to shine.
