Default Dinner last night

Well, sometimes it takes me a long, long time. I've just discovered
little smoked picnic shoulders, sold by Smithfield and weighing under
four pounds. Perfect for two people for a couple of dinners and
probably some sandwiches.

Along with the smoked picnic shoulder, we had some really fresh green
beans and roasted russet potatoes, followed by a piece of rum cake I had
baked a couple of days ago.
Good stuff.

I think maybe you refer to daisy ham? First time I heard of it, Ron
said how about I pick up a daisy ham, I thought he was off his rocker.
It's like a small oval ham? I like them.

That's a new term to me, Nancy. This one looks just like a miniature
smoked ham butt, complete with a bone. It's just the size to avoid
getting tired of it.

Is that like a cottage ham?

Yes, it was pink.

I'd not heard of a daisy ham but from Nancy's description that it was
oval, that sounds like what is sold here as a "smoked butt", which is
misleading since it's from the shoulder I think. It's boneless and
pretty strong in flavour. My little purchase wasn't that one and was
sweet and quite mild

Could be. All I know is that it looked just like a smoked ham butt
half, but in miniature. I get ham cravings once in a while so this was
a perfect size.
