-3 eggs, lightly beaten
-3 egg yolks, lightly beaten
-12 ounces evaporated milk
-2 cinnamon sticks

Place pan in sink or bowl of ice water and stir for two minutes.
Remove stick cinnamon. Whisk in whipping cream, port wine, brandy or

I have to agree. Egg nog is sickly-sweet enough without adding any more crap
to it.

That's a from scratch recipe, not additions to ready made. You can
easily reduce the sugar, can even use sugar substitute (I'd just sub
with pineapple juice and extra rum and omit the chocolate, I'd add a
pint of vanilla ice cream instead of the vanilla extract, then you
don't need any stinkin' sugar). I think it's fine except for the
cinnamon/peppermint sticks... it's one or the other... I prefer
cinnamon but I'd probably omit that too.. I'd omit the port and
brandy and increase the rum. I'm not a fan of chocolate egg nog but
if that's what someone wants then that recipe is fine... egg nog is
made to taste anyway... I'd also add coco lopez and toasted coconut
garnish. Any home made egg nog is better than store bought.
