I usually just take something out of the freezer, and then at the last
minute my 'inspiration' comes to me. But this morning, I deliberatly took out some more Pork Steaks and told the SO that we were going to be having Peppered Pork Steaks in a Cherry Jam Sauce. All she said was "Yum!!" Thanks Koko :-) -- Peter Lucas Brisbane Australia Wars begin where you will... but they do not end where you please. Machiavelli |

I'm sure there were a lot of arguments or flaming, if you will, back about the time that - what was that gal's name that did a lot of canning? - Pack, or something like that? I think the consensus was that there were no side effects; imagination? Everyone is different and I find difficulty with most medications. But let's just put it this way: I was feeling so bad that I decided to stop taking them. Two doctors told me -- well, it's because you stopped something else, not statins. There were numerous physical ailments, but what bothered me most was neurological. I was sent for Parkinson's, ears for imbalance, and the list goes on. At one point a doctor put me on another statin to replace the one I was having trouble with. Within 3 days, I had something that was what I might call arthritis (although I've never had it), and it was so painful I felt I couldn't move any of my joints. This could be hours of discussion; but I would watch muscular-skeletal and neurological. Many people take them for years, so I wouldn't worry. They are just not for me. Dee Dee |

I know they can diagnose rheumotoid (sp?) arthritis, but I don't know if they can 'regular arthritis. FWIW, I've been diagnosed with having arthritis since I was 20 years old, and have never had arthritis. In fact, as I speak (write), I don't have a pain in any joint (except a toe I accidentally kicked today) ;-)) DH has some back problems with osteopenia, and they love to call it arthritis, too. So, keep a watch on your arthritic symptoms and think out of the box. Toe kicked on large Amazon box full of Ecover (dishwasher) rinse aid and tablets I was dragging in. DH still in bed with flu 5 days sick now. He didn't eat for 4 days; today I made a vegetable soup and gave him broth (1/4 cup). I don't dare go into the room except to dart in-dart out, holding my breath. I couldn't find Ecover rinse aid anywhere at all. Good ole Amazon -- they had it, and Free shipping. 6 bottles of rinse-aid, 5 boxes of tablets. Dee Dee |

First I read in some newspaper medical column about a woman put on some cholesterol medication and in no time she couldn't walk, imbalance, confusion. Then in a magazine, same subject. Side effects including cognitive impairment from taking statins. > At one point a doctor put me on another statin to replace the one I was > having trouble with. The family took the woman off the medication and she regained her mobility. nancy |

However, I do have some joint pains that come and go, which is typical of early osteo arthritis symptoms. It mostly affects my fingers and hands, and most often when I've over-stressed them while working on someething. > FWIW, I've been diagnosed with having arthritis since I was 20 years > old, and have never had arthritis. I also use Lemi-Shine rinse-aid. Everything comes out clean, glassware and crystal sparkle, and absolutely no spotting. The only thing I can't use Lemi-Shine on is tin-plated steel. It instantly rusts it completely. -- Wayne Boatwright ******************************************* Date: Tuesday, 01(I)/08(VIII)/08(MMVIII) ******************************************* We're staying together for the sake of the cats. ******************************************* |
