It might fade. :-) Actually, one of the characteristics of the vinyl slipcover material was that it blocked UV rays, so it did inhibit fading. When I was a kid we had quite a few pieces of vinyl upholstered furniture in our basement rec room. However, that vinyl was made to imitate the look of leather, both in texture and color.
