Heya guys,
I got a new assignment, in Rockville MD. I am currently on route to there. If any of you rfc'er are along route I-80, give me a holler. Lets have lunch, dinner, a snack, or a drink. Or just meet. I might change my route along the way. I want to cross paths with a Penzeys, so I might go a bit south of that. And when I get closer to Chicago, and farther east, I might head a bit south. Just to let you know. And Margaret, count me in for your brunch, definately! I got the weekend off: it is written into my contract!!!! Christine |

I will be working in their Neonatal Intensive Care unit. They put out a call for nurses in the past day or so: they are being overwhelmed with babies, sick babies, preemies. This will be exciting: I haven't really been in the DC area since about 20 years ago. Oh, here and there for a very few days at a time. I used to live in that region, so it will be interesting to see how it has changed. I elected to come back east for part of the winter, to get a taste of cold weather again. I may live to regret this. ![]() Virginian has lived in northern California for much of the last 18 years, and has almost forgotten what it is like to have to wear real winter clothes and shoes. I was still wearing my sandals and summer clothes as of yesterday. Probably today as well. That should start changing a bit soon, as I head towards Chicago and that area. I am slowly making my way across country. I am in Reno tonight and will probably be in the vicinity of Salt Lake City tonight coming up. From then on, depending on who calls out to me, and various other factors, I might head on across towards Omaha Nebraska, Chicago area, then towards PA on down to Rockvilled. But then again, I might change my path, and drop on down a bit and head thru Denver, and Kansas, St. Louis, and that area on over. I probably won't know til the night before which way I am going. If any of you RFC'ers are in my path, which is changeable at best, let me know, so I can stop and have a bite to eat with you, or at least a cup of coffee. Maybe you all can let me know the places I "can't miss" along the way, to find some good eats. I read the Roadfood site, and Chowhound, but I might miss something. I will probably miss a lot, actually. Any way, holler at me, if you want me to stop for a short bit in your region: short being defined as being an hour or so. I am usually online in the morning and evening, so if anyone posts to me, I will get it at those times, and I can make plans accordingly. And I can let you all know where I am. Christine |
