Yes, I think so. I've been in better places, but I've also been in worse.

50 degrees presently, with a low of 39 tonight. Tuesday... high of 69 with
a low of 36. No ice, no snow...

I'm a creature of habit -- and I haven't headed south yet. I could enjoy
the southwest, but Florida is just not in my psyche.

It is the rage here for people to retire there, or vacation there, or have
a second house there, to drive up and down the coast.

I couldn't hack Florida either. I don't even like to vacation there.

I wish I could agree, Dee Dee. Most people lose their health and are
unable to work at some point. Social Security isn't enough money for
most people to live on. My father is 91. He has a pension and Social
Security, but it is barely enough. He is living off the proceeds from
the sale of his house. That's going to run out at some point. Still,
people who are 91 and in bad health don't have a long expected life
span. His lab tests all show that he is dead or near dead. He gets
around fine. He eats, sleeps and keeps entertained. He can walk,
although not far. My sister got two handicapped stickers, one for her
and once for our uncle. If they are out alone with Dad, then by the
time they walk across the parking lot, he is too tired to walk in the
store. My father cannot be left alone, because he has senile dementia.
You can't drop him off at the store and go park, because he will be long
gone when you get to the store. You have no idea where he went. He has
no idea where he is.
