Default Broke in a new pan tonight

I've had a new Calphalon stir fry pan for a few weeks now and still
haven't used it.

Tonight I scrounged around and found a few veggies, a couple of pork
loin chops, some soy sauce etc... The pork chops were marinated in
hoisin sauce thinned with some soy sauce.

Put the new pan to the fire, heated it up and added a little peanut
oil.

Thinly sliced the pork before stir frying.

Once the pork was cooked and removed from the pan, I stir fried some
celery, spring onion and carrots. When they were softened a little I
added some asparagus and green beans.

When the veggies were crisp done, I added a stir fry sauce made of soy
sauce, ginger, sugar, cornstarch, sesame oil and garlic. I also added
in the marinade that was left from the pork, and the pork.

I wasn't in the mood for rice so I fixed some bean thread vermicelli.

It probably isn't "authentic" but it tasted danged good.

It turned out awesome!!

Can't wait to use this pan again, I am really impressed with it.

Ok, I have to ask the question. Who the hell puts metal handles on what
is essentially a wok? At least the $17 wok I got from Ikea has wooden
handled and if they wear out, I can replace it with dowels.

It amazes me that people will pay top dollar for cookware.

Otherwise though the dish looks delicious.

Oh, correction. I was off by about $9. The wok I got at Ikea was $8. If
I destroy it in a year or two who cares.

Get one from the Wok Shop.

http://www.wokshop.com/

I got from there, and I love it. The handle is removeable....I took
it off when I seasoned the wok.

Calaphon handles are designed not to conduct heat up them very well.
The riveted attachment and the design of the handle all serve that
purpose. Unless you put the pan in the oven, they stay cool. I'm
little more disturbed by a non-stick wok.

I got mine from there too, sadly my handle wasn't removable.

This was also the first place I bought a small cleaver from, which I
still use almost daily to slice stuff like veggies.
