No thanks, I don't buy from spammers. I wonder what Watkins would have
to say if they knew you were spamming. Thanks for the ID number --
makes it easier to report you.

Miche

No thanks, I don't buy from spammers.

Sorry you think that I am a Spammer. But you can think what you want.
In my post I did not ask anyone to buy anything. Just go to the web
site and have a look. If you want to buy that is up to you.

Watkins Web site is Where you can go and order if you want Top Quality
Spices, Flavorings, and Vanilla along with other products. They also
have receipes that may be of interest to this Usenet Group.

PS IF I WAS TRYING TO SPAM THIS GROUP DO YOU REALLY THINK I WOULD HAVE
INCLUDED MY ID NUMBER?????

PSS one message, one group, group specific, no not spam

Again sorry you feel my post was spam

Join us as a regular poster, contribute to the conversations.... use
your Watkins url as a sig line and there will be no more problem if
you aren't continually pushing your product in conversations. If
you've noticed we do have people here who sell products, but their
product is mentioned in their sig line - it's not the bulk of their
conversation.

You are.

Oh, we do.

Spammers are liars, but we knew that ahead of time.

Or not.

What I did do was file a complaint with Watkins, including the full
message with your ID number there. We'll see if they do anything.

Response today:

Thank you for contacting Watkins Incorporated. We appreciate your
bringing this to our attention. We do have rules about spamming and
will take it up with our Associate. Please let me know if this
continues to be a problem.

Yes. That was rather the point, wasn't it? If you really weren't
a spammer, you would have posted the link *without* your ID number.
You posted it to drum up business in a commercial free forum. Aka,
"spam". Thus you are a spammer. Aka "asshole"...

Unsolicited (as in unasked-for) sales posts are what spam is.

Disingenuous spammers are the worst -- give me a post and run any
day...

You do however quote their contact data. Trim those posts!

Setting aside what associate to go through (I'm not one and tend
to go through ones at home shows so I don't have any to recommend)
I have been happy the times I've used their products. Different stuff
than Penzy's, similar good quality.

I hate spammers, but I really hate spammers that lie about spamming and
get all huffy about it. That motivates me to extra effort.

It is not what we think it is what we KNOW. That one message was a
commercial message designed to enrich you at the expense of us. This is a
non-commercial newsgroup and it specifically prohibits commercial
advertising.

Reputable retailers buy advertising in venues that solicit it, such as
magazines, TV, radio etc. You don't see Sear, Proctor & Gamble, LL Bean,
etc hawking their wares here. Nor should you.

Sorry, but we consider people that try to get a free ride here as scum.
Learn about newsgroups and save yourself a lot of hassle. If you were a
regular contributor here we'd get to know you and your products and maybe
buy from you. As it is, you are an intruder looking for a freebee.

My mother used to buy their stuff from a lady at work. We liked
it. She screwed up their butterscotch pudding base though -- the
milk was shown as two additions and she skipped one. It was like
eating sweet rubber...

Another Google Gropes spammer that a proper gg filter (as versus a
gmail filter) would catch, as it did here.
