Looks like we have an Austrailan cooking an "American" style valentine's
dinner. Nothing says American like meat and potatoes w/apple pie.

All you need is some home-made ice cream.

This *Australian* isn't cooking an Amerycan meal.

It's Aussie beef, Aussie potatos, Aussie apples, Aussie flour, Aussie
cream.

LOL!! If you typecast countries by that criteria, then half the world
would be classed as "Amerycan". Which is rather silly, isn't it?

So what are you doing for VD?? Taking your Mum to BurgerKing?

No chance of that. The icecream maker got the kybosh in favour of a new
bread maker.

Mmmmm. Looks good and you've given me an idea. I have a nice piece of
fillet in the freezer I am sure your SO is gonna enjoy it! So how you
gonna cook your steaks? On the "barbie", or what?

Happy Valentines Day to both of you, BTW!

Antelope?
:-)

She thinks we're just having steak and salad :-)

Nope. Going to sear them both sides in my Cuisinart frypan and then pop
them in the oven for about 6mins.

Take them out, cover and sit for a couple of mins and away we go :-)

Actually we are going to eat Thai food for Valentine's day.

Does Austrailia have a national kind of food... I'm not meaning this to be
rude... but my crazy imagination is seeing a Kangaroo rotating on a spit right
now <Meaning this as humor>.

Your meal does look wonderful.... I hope it goes well.

You don't need a fancy "maker" to make good home-made icecream.

Miche (got a freezer and a whisk, you can make icecream)

Most roo we eat is either in steak form, sausages, or a rolled roast.

Do Amerycans have a national kind of food besides Tacos and donuts?

The vol au vonts were a hit. Got a couple left over.

The steak was done to perfection....... but she who was calling the
shots wanted us to have a creamy pepper sauce over the top of it :-/

The tomato salad went wonderfully over the leaf salad, no need for any
dressing.

The apple pie went down great with a cup of tea about an hour after
dinner!!

Wait'll you see the steak!! (Same link as above)

The potatoes were requested as they were a bit of a hit. The garlic
cloves really put a nice flavour/smell through them.

It was melt in your mouth perfection.

*And* the SO finally saw the light about not having damn sauce on a
great steak!!

It's akin to putting tomato sauce (ketchup) on your cheesecake.
