We all know you are nothing but a bloated bag 'o skunk shit, but please, do your best to prove us wrong. The delicious part of all this, Andy Pander, is that you made this threat in front of everyone. So now, if you don't follow through you'll be further humiliated (which seems hardly possible). Please, feel free to keep painting yourself in a corner, boy-o Gee, before suing for -- what did you call it? Slander? you might want to re-check your legal definitions so that you know what you are talking about. Hey, I wonder if Jeremy feels like suing YOUR ass for painting him as a KKK supporter. There isn't a whole bunch that brings my blood to boil anymore, but Andy's hateful, bigoted attitude doesn't belong on any group that I was on prior to him arriving, which is RFC and ABF. You really don't want to get in the middle of this. It might be better if you just decide to kill-file the thread. Regards, -- Dave www.davebbq.com |

I hate all of this and it's been a long, long, long time since I've even felt like doing what I'm doing. What Andy did was particularly hurtful because ABF and AFB went through a real tough period with a self-described 'technical writer'. For years he spent a long time laying the 'racist', 'KKK', 'lynch mob rednecks' label on EVERY participant of those groups. He finally went away and things have been great. But now we have CrackerJack boi who comes into ABF and just like here, he posts his insipid stupidity every once in a while, which is fine. I ignore him, don't say a word to him. Just like here, the tone changes from air-headed but harmless remarks to an increasingly dark and mean-spirited homily to which one shakes their head and says to themselves, 'What's the punchline here? He can't possibly mean what he said'. However Andy has now pushed over the line. A bbq guy, Jeremy, posted information on both AFB and ABF about a weekend long bbq fundraiser he gives his time to each year. The website url he includes shows the children's programs which the fundraiser supports. Without ANYTHING that even smacks remotely of racism, other than being from Texas (a 'crime' for which Andy has taken a particular hated tone in other posts he's made there) Andy asks Jeremy if he's raising money for the KKK. I was the first to reply to Andy's post, giving him a benefit of the doubt he really didn't deserve, asking him to please clarify his post; that if he had meant for his post to be a joke, it wasn't. Several others had immediately responded to Andy's post by stating similar things to what I had posted. Andy's response -- to wit -- was to tell us to **** off, and that if Jeremy wasn't raising money for the KKK he would answer the question. I decided that this crap wasn't going to happen again, or be allowed to stand without a furious response. In this day and age one of the worst societal labels you can fling at someone innocent is the label of racism. When Andy decided to fling that label at someone I respect because he has a personal attitude problem with 'rednecks' and 'Texans' and those of us who do bbq, he has crossed the rhetorical line and doesn't deserve the respect of decent and respectable language. Andy could have, at the time he made the post, very easily and without much of a loss of face, apologized; by even pretending that it was just a stupid joke and that he didn't mean anything by it, things would have just gone on without so much as a hiccup. But his responses in that thread made painfully obvious that he said what he meant to say. Andy is bigoted against me and the people I am friends with or respect through their postings. He thinks by virtue of what we enjoy doing -- or where we might live -- that we are racists. I hate this Cyber; but Andy is a shallow, vindictive, hate-filled spirit who can no longer be free to go unchallenged. He needs to apologize to Jeremy, or go away. But right now, I just want to keep taking big bites out of him. Tomorrow, who knows? -- Dave www.davebbq.com |

He's lived in Houston for quite awhile now (I met him at a houston.eats get-together back in 2000), but he's originally from the UK. You'd never think he was from TX if you heard his British accent. ![]() > Andy asks Jeremy if he's raising money for the KKK. > > I was the first to reply to Andy's post, giving him a benefit of the doubt > he really didn't deserve, asking him to please clarify his post; that if > he had meant for his post to be a joke, it wasn't.
