Default Heads Up for Costco contact for problems

I was reading through the February 2008 Costco Connection magazine and came
across an article about the Costco produce. The article also included an
email address for questions regarding Costco products and services. It is

I received a response to my email within 5 minutes with a promised follow
up. Give it a try if you have an issue.

Do you mean produce or products?

It depends. . .the article was about the produce, but the paragraph with the
email address said "products and services."

I don't know if all Costcos are the same but it appears from their web
site that they don't sell produce, other than fruit gift baskets. And
I was perusing their cheeses... what prices... they charge about *3X*
times the prices as Sam's Club.

Their website is not to be confused with their stores. And I have
seen inconsistencies with their online prices for things, I don't know
what's up with that.

For instance, I saw M&Ms for $13 something online, I pay 7 something
in the store. The stores most assuredly do sell produce, and the price
for cheeses I buy there were very good.

Now, last time I went, they did not have mozzarella ... this is very
worrisome to me, I hope it's a momentary supply issue.

Costco does sell produce. And the 3X times price for cheese is an
insane claim. But I do consider the source.

The source is their web site, pinhead.

Okay, I see that the online price for cheeses includes
2nd day air shipping. The prices can't be compared to
what you'd find in the warehouse.

All CostCo's carry produce, they just don't ship it. And the
prices and products offered online are often much different than
the actual stores.

I'd like to see one of these products you claim is 3x more than
Sam's Club. Got a cite? ..... I didn't think so.

You need to pry yourself away from that bank of monitors attached
to the hidden cameras in your rental house and get out of the
house more. There's nothing more ignorant than a home-shopping
AOL'er with a credit card.

The you would have a cite for a few of those products that you
claim are 3X more than Sam's, right?

You won't of course, since you know it's bullshit.

The cheese prices include shipping, 2 or 3 day air.

Costco.com is the web shopping and carries different products than the
stores. The stores do carry produce. I am a 20-year veteran shopper at
Costco -- I didn't just pull the info from a magazine I picked up at the
dentist's office. I was offering info for other Costco shoppers.

Thanks. Now I see that too (alluded to way down at the bottom of the
page), but that's not a very honest format, other web sites list the
price of the item alone and then show the shipping separately... with
the smarmy method Costco uses I still don't know the actual price of
the product alone. I also found their Produce section, but what a
circuitous route, I tried to find my way back and couldn't. Costo's
is one EFed up web site to navigate, probably done purposefully. I've
never been to a Costco, and probably never will, there are none in
upstate NY.

Sometimes one can receive *autoresponder* email within *seconds*. It's
human followup that matters; autoresponders don't solve problems. Let us
know how the rest of this plays out.
