Default Orange Roughy - A Blinkynote

I want to thank everyone connected with the Orange Roughy thread for
knowing I've not been trying to be a hard-ass on those poor little fish
(that, incidentally, I haven't eaten in years). There are some places
where biases exist that would have had people all over my sharkly ass, so
I've taken pains to explain that I've just been trying to find a good
source for the call on whether something is or isn't considered
endangered, and I appreceate that y'all have taken my participation in the
thread in the spirit in which it was offered. I think that's exceptional,
sad as that may be, and you all deserve a hat tip. [hat tip]

I just had a nice bowl of orange roughy and corn chowder.
Mmmm . . . very good. My favorite fish. I'll be delighted
to eat the very last orange roughy taken from the ocean.

I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of any party for a
term as your President.

"If nominated I will not run, if elected I will run for the border."

(I was always tickled by this variation on Sherman's refusal.
I don't know the source, though.)

I can't eat shark, fortunately for you. It comes back to bite my
innards. My mentor said it was probably a histamine reaction, not a
true allergy.

In fact, I used to have X-faces like the one I use for posting that each
had me wearing a different kind of hat. I seem to have lost those four or
so images over the years. I looked best in the Indiana Jones style hat.

See my reply to blake's comment, in fact.

A remora under the brim would do it, too.

Are you sure? Remoras are eels. I thought you were talking about those
little fish that sometimes follow along close to larger fish.

I was confused. Remoras *are* fish. Yes, morays are one kind of eel.

Carry on.

No.

But I *was* thinking, erroneously, that remoras were eels. I've since
corrected myself a few times. Probably adequately.

(sigh) sorry someone stole your g-o-o-g-l-e keys..............

remora - attach themselves to their host and feed off of foodscraps and
feces, though some believe they also groom the host

pilot fish - have a facultative symbiotic relationship with larger fish;
swimming with larger fish provide protection while the pilot fish grooms the
fish of parasites and spinach stuck between their teeth
