It's the bot. Does the same thing as Googlebot.

Ah! I was going to ask about that, too. I went chat last night (for
pretty much the first time in a decade; I used to chat frequently but got
away from it) and it twice posted links to blinkynet.net in response to
comments I made. Since I'm new to that server, I'll further ask: since
Vilco just saw fit to ask about nagger, does that imply that its
appearance there is new?

It's a new name. I don't know why the name was changed from
"Googlebot" - but it was.

If the person who names it wants to stick with Nagger (I happen to
like it, so I don't think of it in such negative terms), maybe it
should have "bot" added: naggerbot, nagbot, busybot... whatever. That
way everyone knows it's just a machine and won't be weirded out by the
"lurker" called Nagger.

Well, yes and no. There has been a bot there for what seems like
forever..it just got renamed..or something.

To expand upon the 'bot', it performs various functions such as creating a
Tiny URL if you post a long link in chat. If you have a (US only?) postal
code, given a specific command it will give you your current weather
conditions.

Zat it? I saw those last night; was that its whole schtick?

I was in for a moment, tonight. I left to watch SNL. I don't do
politics, but I'd read that Hillary Clinton was making an unbilled
appearance, and wanted to see what she'd do. Nothing much; very missable.
Perhaps I'll jump back to chat in a few...

I've no idea if it has any other tricks up its sleeve. I don't pay much
attention to it, although it did throw me when the name was changed to
'nagger'.

It's failed spectacularly on that account. It's lucky if it shortens URLs
50% of the time, both now and in its previous incarnation. I just do it
myself before posting. Everyone should have this site bookmarked and easily
accessible:
