I have that exact stuffer. For the price it is just fine and vastly better
than using the Kitchen Aid stuffer attachment. Unless you can bolt it to a
table you really want to have a helper. It is galvanized steel, not
stainless, so is not intended for heavy use, but if you make a batch of
sausages every week or two and take care to wash and dry it well it will
give long service. I find it useful to wrap several layers of plastic wrap
around the plunger to create a better seal and minimize leakage of the
sausage meat between the plunger and the body. I have used it with both pork
and lamb casings.

Thanks for the tip and for rating it. Now I only hope that a 0 bidder
doesn't come in on the last minute. It's happened with the same guy
already. I'm wondering if it's a scam, to avoid selling for 30 bucks.
Apparently he/she wants 35 for it.

That style sausage stuffer is made in many qualities, the cheaply made ones
really suck. That one is a No Name Brand, not even a country of origin given.
And those are generally made in the 3lb size, not 5lb size.. so I would
suspect it is a cheaply made piece of shit. For a few measly dollars more I'd
suggest ordering a brand new one of known heritage... from:
http://www.alliedkenco.com
http://www.sausagemaker.com

My Moulinex electric meat grinder is supplied with a wonderfully efficient
sausage stuffing apparatus... don't need any stinkin' push stuffer:

You can get the same thing from Harbor Freight Tools for about $20. The
capacity is probably closer to 3 pounds than 5.

Best regards,

Well, fercripesake, pay the $35 and eliminate the guesswork. If things
heat up at the end, you *could* end up paying more than $35 if you
really want it.

Before you bid, go to www.Northerntool.com They have them cheaper ($27.00)
and a SS model for $50. Just type in "sausage" as the key work for the
search.
