Yellow Tail is nasty. Price Check at BevMo shows they have the RESERVE
marked down to $9.99 a bottle (was $14.99). Wine Spectator gave the
Reserve 88 pts., but I haven't tried the Reserve, just the regular
cheap(er) stuff which can average $7-$9 a bottle depending upon where
you shop. It wasn't good enough for me to want to try it again.

I had a couple of cases of the whites and reds given to me. Even as a
freebie, they were crap!!

(Normally everything tastes better when it's free :-)

I just had a case of bubbles delivered for $89.
2 each of the following........

# Banrock Station Pinot Noir Chardonnay NV
# Society Vintage Brut 2006
# Eighth Horse Sparkling Brut NV
# Angoves Chalk Hill Blue Brut NV
# Seppelt Stony Peak Reserve Brut NV
# Society Brut Reserve NV

The SO likes her bubbles, so she's happy :-)

It is. It is thick, almost syrupy, with a really unpleasantly heavy vanilla
note.
Blech.

Same opinion here for me, and I'd really like to taste some good aussie
wine.
Omero, an old friend of an uncle, came back to visit Italy recently so my
uncle called me to help with the language, since Omero remembers only few
words of italian, or better: few words of our local slang.
When Omero said he had brougth a pair of bottles from Australia I was going
to say "Great! Let's just hope it is not JT" but, for a kind of premonition,
I didn't say it. And I did well: guess what came out of his bag

Me and a good friend too love bubbly whites, and recently we're having much
Malvasia, from Parma or Piacenza or even my town, Reggio Emilia. Nice
sparkler with fresh fruity nose and a terrific drinkability
And when I have something to toast, or when I have something for which I
have to beg her pardon, it's Jacquart champagne, both the cuvee and the
rose', coming at 18 and 22 euros with a very good price/quality ratio.

Tried cooking shrimp or pork with it? I'd think either one would benefit
from a white-wine-with-vanilla flavor.
