Plug Butter? Sounds like some sort of homo... Ahh forget it. I
know what you meant ;-)

Still - he said that was a year ago he saw those prices, so I
figured store-brand butters weren't much different.

I was in Whole Foods and TJ's over the noon hour
(South SF Bay Area). WF's store brand (grade AA)
was $2.49/lb. TJ's (also grade AA) was the same price.

Yes, definitely pricier here, but not much different than imported European
butters.

I'd say so -- I was happy to get two pounds of Challenge butter for $5
the other day. I was at a Top Foods today and saw the *store brand*
was selling for over $3/lb...

What difference does it make? Are you going to drive across the country to
buy butter at 1.69 a pound?

I received a Walmart sales flyer in my local newspaper today, and it has
butter on sale for $1.50/lb! The butter package looks like it's a
generic brand.

Sky, who already has more than enough butter in the freezer!

Give me a friggin break! I just want to know if it's a good price for
stocking up on (and apparently it is). I don't LIVE HERE so I've no idea
what the going rate for butter is anywhere other than where I DO live. Do
you mind????

Guernsey milk and cream is well sought after over here. Only one place I
know of that sells it here in SEQueensland...

Good, not great, where I am (Oakland). Grocery store is $3-4;
Trader Joe's is $2; Costco is $1.59.

While enjoying a wonder breakfast buffet in a Bavarian hotel a few years ago I was
embarrassed when I asked the server about the wonderful spread I had been enjoying
on my rolls. It was butter. It was rich and tasty and far better than any butter I
had ever had before.

while CostCo is still $1.62.

Here in Idaho store brand butter was on sale for $1,89, Costco $1.67. The
price of the rest of the groceries took my breath away. Some produce had
increased by more than 50% since last week. Costco definitely had the
better prices on produce as they hadn't really changed at all.

Why not? I've had Pacific salmon shipped to me after ordering it online.
And years ago Kendall F. Stratton packed some fresh picked fiddleheads in
dry ice and shipped them to me. No reason it can't be done. But really, I
was just joshing Sheldon for mentioning a .com thing. Maybe your sense of
humour was flash-frozen somewhere along the line
