Default Using a marinade brush - hygiene issue

I've been using a pasty brush to brush marinades onto meat.

I am not sure what the best way to clean the brush is. I use some
washing-up liquid and massage it through the bristles.

Is this good enough to get rid of bacteria? What is the best way to clean
such a brush?

Cheers

ss.
