.... on one of our local TV channels. Of course, the show was 4 months
old, but I'll say this: 1. Her cooking was, well, not impressive (chicken stock out of a carton, FFS!), but I fancied some of the cookware she had on the show... 2. The woman never stops talking (and coming from me, that's quite something) 3. I can understand why a lot of the guys 'tune in' to her show(s) - IMHO she gives Nigella some competition ![]() -- Cheers Chatty Cathy Monday is a lousy way to spend one seventh of your life. |

I used to watch Rachael Ray but after a while that over-perkiness got to me like fingernails on a blackboard. Now, if I see her, even on a commercial, I flip the channel. To something else. *Anything* else. I will however admit to watching Giada DeLaurentis ("Everyday Italian") occasionally even if I'm not interested in the food she's cooking.... :-) Best -- Terry |

She did a salad sort of thing the other day with prawns the size of small lobster tails. After dishing up two plates piled high with the greens and each with four huge prawns she said it was the first course, she'd be right back to show how to prepare the rest of the meal. Who eats like that?!! Jill |

It's fascinating to watch TV cooks make messy things and still manage to keep their jewelry sparkling clean! That chesire cat grin and the insipid Betty Rubble giggle are unbearabl. She reminds me of somebody who has smoked a lot of pot. They get that wide SEG and they can't stop giggling. > 3. Drives me batty because not only is it so unattractive (nothing like calling attention to your fat hands) but wearing them while preparing food is just gross. At least with the money she's pulling in now she can buy herself better rings than many I see. Just one of my pet peeves. |

I never see her fingers go into in messy food past the first bendy part when she's sporting her rocks. What she does with her fingertips takes me my arm (often up to the elbow)! -- See return address to reply by email remove the smile first |

She grates on my nerves. Nigella, on the other hand, is soothing and earthmotherish, with promises of intimate meals (which she always has with a gaggle of hangers-on in my protracted absence) and much much more...much much more... |

I rather enjoy Michael Smith, Georges Laurier, Christine Cushing, Anna Olson and Laura Calder not to mention the graduates of the ITHQ in Montréal, Caroline McCann-Bizjak and Ricardo Larrivée. Our programs are less built around a gimmick (you know the kind, Bam! Eevoo, that sort of schtick) and more around the qualifications of the host. http://www.foodtv.ca/ontv/hostsatoz.aspx What I really find irritating, on top of Rachael Ray, are those restaurant fix-it shows and the Iron Chef franchise. |
