Default Dinner tonight

Dinner was really good tonight, if a little weird. I made
chicken-barbecue pizza on homemade sourdough crust. I was asking
James what he thought he'd like as a vegetable with dinner, and he
first thought coleslaw, then cabbage salad, and then he thought,
Hey, kim chee!

So we had chicken-barbecue pizza on sourdough crust and two kinds of
kim chee. Weird fusion dinner, but everything was delicious. :-)

Sounds good to me and not a bit weird, especially since you live in
California ;-). I've never thought that a main dish has to be
matched with sides from the same culinary family. Bok choy goes well
with Kentucky fried chicken, my corn and zucchini side dish goes well
with spareribs whether they are Chinese style or smoked or grilled
with red bbq sauce, Chinese broccoli (gai lon) goes well with steak,
hot spinach salad with bacon, garlic, vinegar goes well with
enchiladas, etc., etc. Cooks Without Borders! -aem

I love barbecued chicken pizza...with smoked gouda, especially did you use cheese?
what kind?

Whole Foods actually makes a pretty tasty one, now that I think of it. My SIL bought
them for a candle party. I'm sure it cost a fortune

I asked James what cheese he wanted, and he said that he didn't
really think it needed cheese (though smoked gouda was one we
thought of, I don't like smoked stuff much, and he said that he
didn't think having cheese on this particular pizza was worth the
expense). I ended up sprinkling some romano on the top, mainly for
looks.

:-) I've never bought pizza at Whole Foods, but they look good.
