Default Grasshopper pie

I had a craving for the mint chocolate chip ice cream you can buy at
the store, but I wanted it in pie form. So I made a Grasshopper pie,
which I suppose is a fancy word for Chocolate mint pie. Whatever you
want to call it this pie is sure to please and delight the senses.

Ingredients:

* 1 package of Keebler Grasshopper cookies
* 1 pkg instant vanilla pudding
* 1 1/2 C. Cold milk
* 1 C. Whipped cream (homemade or store bought cool whip)
* 2 Hershey chocolate bars
* 2 tsp. Chocolate mint flavoring
* Green food coloring

Directions:Mint Chocolate pie

Grease a pie plate very well and set aside. In a Ziploc bag place
all of the Keebler Grasshopper cookies and crush them to bits and
pieces. Mix the cookies with one stick of melted butter and press into
greased pie plate. Place in freezer for about 30 minutes to set. While
the crust is setting take two Hershey Chocolate bars and shave them
with the slicer side of a multi sided grater. After the crust has set
in a mixing bowl pour milk, instant vanilla pudding mix, and 2 tsp.
chocolate mint flavoring. Beat with a wire whisk until blended about
two minutes. Fold in cool whip and half of the chocolate shavings and
a couple drops of green food coloring. Spread the rest of the shaved
chocolate on top of the pie. Refrigerate for 2 hours or until set.

This Grasshopper (chocolate mint,) pie is wonderful and tastes just
like the ice cream. It truly was exactly what I was going for, and I
was very pleased with the results. You won’t see a single piece of the
pie pictured because I made a mistake, as we all sometimes often do. I
forgot to grease the pie plate, and well my crust stuck. Had I not
done this I have no doubt that my pie would have turned out perfect.

“Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what
they a precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way.
Unless it’s a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from. ”
Al Franken

If you are going to make the whip cream yourself make it ahead of time
so it is ready to fold in right after you get done beating the
pudding/ pie filling mix together. Other then that helpful suggestion
just remember to grease, grease, and grease

Here is my recipe for Grasshopper Mold, which could be placed in a
prepared chocolate crust if so desired.
Mine uses old fashioned ingredients (no coolwhip, instant pudding or
food coloring) and is probably just as simple to make as yours.

That sounds wonderful, I like the idea of the cookie crumbs being
sprinkled on top as well. I am going to have to try this one out as
well. Thanks
