Probably not a lunch dish because of the time but otherwise, lentils and onions can be cooked without a lot of watching over. I'll make it after I change job locations. Hopefully, that will be next year. -- See return address to reply by email remove the smile first |

Yes, often, but lunch time can be really "dedicated" personal time on the computer. Great minds! I saved that recipe too. I can only say that what I get appears to have more lentil than rice in it and everything seems to be a bit more "cooked" more than the picture.... you can't tell the lentils from the rice. This is the way they make it daily, so it's not a mistake. That's not a *bad* thing either - I love it! >because it takes quite a while to caramelize onions and cook lentils. >Probably not an expensive thing to buy, and it does sound delicious. Mujadara costs me $4 something - which is expensive for this place. A big caesar salad with chicken costs less than $4 and huge sandwiches using high quality ingredients are only $3.50. >I'll try it one of these days when I have a lot of time and have found >some brown lentils.. -aem I don't think you're shackled to brown lentils. I think the corner store makes it with green lentils (I'll ask tomorrow, to be sure). ![]() -- See return address to reply by email remove the smile first |

I just came back from one of those "occasional" lunches out with my manager. You guys were right, it is so nice to have that mental break during the day! Of course, this is nice as a once-in-awhile thing. I've been bringing my lunch to work almost all other days and using eating lunch out as a "treat" instead of "the norm." This pattern is definitely the way to go! |
