Default Breakfast Salad

Morning folks!

Breakfast was a bag of "field greens" with creamy parmesan cheese dressing,
and a container of TJ's key lime yogurt for desert.

YUM!!!

What did you have?

I had peas with milk and butter but it could have been pea salad, too. Have
to keep that in mind. Yesterday I had pane frattau, a Sardegnan dish I
love, served with tomato sauce and a poached egg and some cheese.

Here's the recipe I found, for the benefit of the membership. Some
interesting background info too. I hope it's more or less authentic.

Andy, if it were that much work I would never have it for breakfast. Look
here for the recipe that is on the Pane Carasau box, direct from Sardegna.
Much easier and i think it can be done also with lavash. Ten days after
Pane Frattau I also posted Zuppa Gallurese which is fabulous and also very
easy if you use the right ingredients. That recipe came off the box as
well.

Italian market for supplies!

Fun website and info too.

Dave,

LOL, I had to re-read that to decide where the typo was!

While milk = White milk? Who on earth would use chocolate milk in cereal? I
have.
While milk = Whole milk? OK, that's more like it.

All in all sounds like a very whilesome breakfast!

Sheldon,

You have a following, we all know, but your racist attitude never ceases to
amaze me.

When you're not quoting from some website, you're basically a jerk and a
half and just degrade the newsgroup.

You're back on my killfile again!

I eat an hour or two after I awaken, but that's not always morning
time.

(Today: Toast with tofu mayo and red bell pepper strips)

Nuthin I had to catch an early flight and can't bring myself to eat

Vegemite on lightly toasted brown spelt bread (home-made). And a nice
hot cup of tea.

It's good stuff, and not that expensive really. Is there a source near

Miche,

I'd honestly would have to fall off the edge of Australia and then again
bounce off New Zealand into no-mans land, as a last resort to survive on
vegemite.

I apologize but the stuff is a tad repulsive. If I was on death's door I'd
try some. Otherwise, I think not. Gimme your Cooper's Ale and Bundeberg
Rum'n'Coke in a can and floaters or just plain meat pies and let me live!!!

Same as usual: toast (sourdough this time) and coffee, plus a little

Yeah, it was empty, that's the problem! I had to buy some milk - couldn't
not have that! (And Persia isn't lactose intolerant so she got a bit of it
first thing yesterday.) I'll make a list and go shopping over the weekend.
I need eggs for sure, and bread and cheeses. I'll have to take a freezer
inventory. Pantry - no problem. Harking back to threats of power outages
due to tornadoes, etc. I've got canned stuff out the wazoo

It's an acquired taste for us septics, Andy. I rather like the stuff. I
can't tell the diff between Marmite and Vegemite, so either one does fine
for me. I treataed one of my British ex-beaux to a taste test because he
crowed that he could easily distinguish between the two and I didn't believe
him. He could :-) And Marmite was tops for him.

If you DO some day have to survive on one of these fine products, Andy, make
sure you spread it THINLY on the toast. THINLY. Not like peanut butter,
ok?!
