We all know the dangers of swimming in the ocean(Sharks) what are the
dangers of swimming in a lake? Is there any kind of really bad ass fish or something like that? I know crocodiles and alligators. But the lake I'm thinking of doesn't have those. So besides crocs and alligators what in a lake could kill you? You know what really freaks me out is seaweed, hate to be swimming in some seaweed, that shit is gross don't you think? |

Struck by drunk jet ski drivers, amoeba infections, water moccasin (snake) bite, and believe it or not, *dehydration* are all recent causes of deaths on recreational lakes. |

He makes his own whirlpool when he jumps in the lake. Does that family ever stop eating? Thank God that Idiot Huckabee is not in the news anymore, what a homely looking man. |

Nothing to worry about there. Watch for snakes if there are any poisonous ones in the lake you're thinking about. If not, nothing to worry about there either. If you want to be sure about that one, you can call the lake management office and they can almost certainly either tell you if it's a concern and where the snakes have been observed, or tell you who can. >I know crocodiles and alligators. But the lake I'm thinking of >doesn't have those. So besides crocs and alligators what in a lake >could kill you? Most people who die in a lake die because of some simple stupid mistake, or because of a situation that came up because of the motion of waves and boats. Watch out for ropes. They can move sometimes and trip you or grab you... Don't get hit by a boat or pwc. Probably a very high percentage of the deaths on lakes involve people being too drunk for the situation, so keep that in mind. The lake won't forgive you for any bad decisions. >You know what really freaks me out is seaweed, hate to be swimming in >some seaweed, that shit is gross don't you think? Sometimes it's cool to get around it, and swim in it. If you can learn to like it, then you'll like it instead of being freaked out by it. Think how much more fun that would be. :¬) |
