On Tuesday evening, I am making sauerkraut and hot dogs in the slow
cooker. I am not in the mood for a salad, but yet, I cannot think of one think to go with it. Any ideas you can offer is appreciated. Thanks, Anthony |

You can make up a variety of them. Hot out of the oven separately lightly garlic powder, onion powder some, sprinkle small pinches of powdered dried basil on others and rosemary (just suggestions) on others, reheat in the oven for another minute or so to absorb the powders a little. Put out a box of toothpicks for the neat-freaks attending. And don't forget to use your finest paper plates! ![]() Andy |

Takes about 10 minutes on the stove. Sides? German potato salad, potato chips, pickles, mustard, ketchup, orange Jell-O with shredded carrots and topped with a dollop of Miracle Whip. Decorate with bacon or parsley or whatever. |

He spoils a lot of food ideas for me. :-) That's what I like to do with the potatoes cooked with a pot roast, and he's on his own with those. I can't imagine having kraut and no potatoes! lol It's the way my mom and her mom always did it. Baked beans seems a natural with the hot dogs. A variety of raw veggies would work too. kimberly |
