You raise interesting points. Methods of eating grapefruit seem to differ. Some seem expect the fruit to be served in sections removed from the rind. Others, like me, use a curved grapefruit knife to detach the sections from the rind but take them out with a spoon. If you have grapefruit in a restaurant the grapefruit knife method will normally be used. If it isn't, it can be messy to eat the grapefruit with a spoon. My accountant is in the area so at the very least once a year I drop by and, and, well get all I need to pig out. My favorite is their (Old Time) veal bologna. Their Black Forest Ham is to die for. Their butcher case is nothing short of eye candy for anyone who loves food. A note of caution, no credit cards accepted. They also carry a small selection of imported German foods. Dimitri |

With a bottle of prosecco for the two of us. ISTR that we used to have a grapefruit knife and grapefruit spoons too.
