Default Last stop, Kansas City, Missouri! Everbody off!

Last stop, Kansas City, Missouri! Everbody off.

End of May I'll be in Kansas City, Missouri.

Got Arther Bryant's and LC's on my list.

I've allocated five pounds of weight gain for the trip.

Can I count on Bryant's for the full five? Or should I spread it around?

Hope it's not hell fire hot during my visit.

Thanks! For years I've been trying to remember the name
of a KC place that someone I met in John's Bar in San Francisco
told me about, and I'm pretty sure that's it.

Sorry, can't meat Missouri and not touch Arthur Bryants.

I've read about Jack's Stack and how pricey they are. I will step inside if
there's time.

Best,

I ate at Niecie's last time I was there. I'd characterise
it as "simple food done well." I've found roadfood.com
to be a good place to research decent but not ritzy
restaurants in a wide variety of places.

Someone else mentioned Jack Stack's (or Jack's Stack or whatever
it is). I don't care for it that much. There is much better
and less pretentious barbeque available. For instance, LC's:

Just my opinion--I have a coworker that prefers Jack Stack's.

Another fun place there is Winstead's. It's sort of a 50's
diner kind of place.

At any rate, there's plenty of pounds in K.C. just waiting
for you to put them on....

Michael,

Thanks for your kind invite! It's really a mad dash visit. May 29-June 2. My
#1 bud from California and his family will be there for a family reunion and
invited me to join in.

Yep, one and the same. It's been about 10 years since the Waffle House
days, been mostly lurking here for
about 5 years. Yes, I did see your post about GMS, so sad.

Michael,

A few years ago I stood near some police horses at a memorial ceremony and
I was pretty friggin' intimidated by their height and mass!

I asked the officer on one if I could pet it and he said "yes," motioning
to its upper front leg." I did and it jerked it's head around a little to
get a look at me. I quickly backed away, "nice horsey!!!" (I didn't say
that!)

Huge, beautiful beast with attitude! One of Kris' horses?

A far cry from the tired little horses we rode at YMCA summer camp!
