Thank you, Wayne. I'm spending the day with DH and our three wonderful
daughters. My mom lives four hours north of here, so I'll talk with her on
the phone later today (she's coming down tomorrow to stay a few days,
though, so I'll see her then).

Sadly, although DH's mom (in CA) is still living, she doesn't know it's
Mother's Day or even who any of us are anymore. He sent a nice bouquet to
her at the home where she lives.

Happy Mom's Day to all the moms in here!

OB food: currently simmering shrimp shells to make shrimp stock for shrimp
and asparagus risotto, which will be part of dinner tonight

You are fortunate to be able to share they day with all of them, and that
your mom is arriving tomorrow!

That's really a shame. I would think that a situation like that is very
hard to deal with.

Now, THAT sounds delicious! Three of my favorite things; shrimp,
asparagus, and risotto.

It is, but it's been such a gradual thing that's happened over the years
(she was diagnosed with Alzheimers in '02 at the age of 60) that DH came to
terms with it awhile ago. It's still hard for him, but he's arrived at a
sort of acceptance stage at this point, y'know?

Thanks. Haven't made risotto in such a long time, and Jill's thread inspired
me.

Well, my Mom has been gone for several years, but I'll wish all of you

You are so very kind and thoughtful Wayne, thank you.

I know your fond memories of your mother will make this a happy day
for you also, and she will be with you in spirit.

You are blessed that you were able to care for her in her last years.

Thank you, Koko. Yes, I feel very blessed, especially to have had both the
mother and father that I had.

This is but one of many of the commercials for Wrigley's Doublemint Gum,
but not the original jingle, which I couldn't find.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVus6...eature=related

Part of the original jingle was, "Double your pleasure, double your fun,
with Doublemint, Doublemint Gum.

> Thank you for the greetings)))

Except that kids always sing it as:

Double your pleasure, double your fun
Shack up with two girls instead of just one.
