Nonsense. Who told you such claptrap... most any electrical supply
store can locate a replacement motor in five minutes, and most likely
a far better quality motor than the one that died. You can probably
(easily) find one on line... did you even look, search <electric
motors>.

I would take the old motor to a local Grainger outlet for a replacement.

We have one business in town that sells nothing but parts for appliance
repair. ANYthing you can imagine for ANY brand, I think? We've
reconditioned and repaired washers, refrigerators, dishwashers with
parts there instead of just replacing. I bet they could help you.
Look in the yellow pages under "Appliance, Parts"

Try this website - my appliance repair guy (he's a keeper!) uses this
site to find appliance parts. It may help or may not to find the motor
for the exhaust fan.
