I went to one of those that had a $95/day price tag on it and it
certainly wasn't worth it. Standing in hot, outdoor lines all day
to get a nibble here, a nibble there (about 5 in all), and a few
shots of wine a was not worth it. And then sitting in the hot sun
for cooking demos...

Never again.

This one is well worth it. Bring an appetite:

And it's indoors.

If I recall correctly, these shows are not open to members
of the public. Food professionals only. I don't know how
they enforce that rule, though.

Michael, check out megabus.com . Round trip from St. Louis to Chicago
runs between $42 and $70.

Not only that, but Chicago currently has the highest-price gasoline in
the country. I'd be surprised if the bus fare didn't go up.

It will only become cheaper, when we drive up to a pump and find out
there is NO gas. None, zilch. Then the dumb masses will raise
their voices in protest.
