Default Favorite internet recipe?

All this talk about family recipes, and passing things down got me
thinking about my favorite recipes. My mother was a great cook but she
didn't use recipes. I, on the other hand, do use recipes which I get
from various places. I realized that most of what I make comes from
recipes I found online.

A few of my favorite found on line recipes?
Jerk Chicken
Chicken enchiladas
Peanut butter chocolate chip bars
Raspberry squares
Spanish rice
Apple Cake - one of the first recipes I got from rfc - posted by moosemeat.
Gingerbread men -
blueberry poundcake
pad thai -
Kay Hartman's Margarita

Some of these are from rfc and some are from random blogs, other usenet
groups, or even rfr back when the recipes were actually good.

What's your favorite internet recipe?

A large number of the recipes that I use came from the 'net. My
"Food" folder has over 200 recipes lined up for trying and there
are another 200 in the "Tested" (worth making again, some with
modifications) sub-folder.

Back when I first discovered the internet and usenet I saved almost
every recipe that sounded good but I don't do that so much anymore. I do
still have quite a lot of recipes which I haven't tested, but not nearly
what I had.
I keep saying to myself that I am going to organize them some day - put
them in a nice binder....ya know? I just haven't gotten around to it.

I'm afraid that my technique is to print out the recipe I want
to use and then not worry about stuff being spilled on the
printout!

Tracy,

Oh... the most fun pizza recipe website is here...

http://www.ecst.csuchico.edu/~pizza/

It's one of those infinite combination pizza websites.

And the pizzas are free!

Oh gosh, this is a hard question. Since I've been tooling around on the
Internet since 1986 (with my double-spaced 20 meg hard drive and 1800 baud
modem LOL) and Usenet much later, 1997 or so... I'd have to say I've gotten
a good number of recipes online. Mostly the ones I use come from cookbooks,
though. Betty Crocker, primarily. Good Housekeeping.

Got the recipe for corn chowder here from Kate Connally. Good stuff! Mom
actually ate two bowls of it. She rarely goes back for seconds so that's
testimony enough

When I like something at a restaurant I love to try to recreate it at home.
No recipe involved, just my palate and some imagination.

I worked at Red Lobster in the late '70's and loved their crab stuffed
flounder, so I got together with a girlfriend, we went grocery shopping and
I made some for dinner. That was fun because I had no clue how they
prepared it. I was working strictly on visuals and what I thought it should
taste like. Turned into one of my signature dishes

There's a spelling misteak in that it should be:
he's a manly man; and he smells real gud.

My favorite? I'm thinking Nancy Young's Short Ribs thing and Eva
Kende's Chicken Paprikas. The latter is one that needs to be
handwritten for Firstborn. Well, of course there's always Barb
Schaller's Famous Orgasmic Chocolate Brownies.

If people use words like "orgasmic" to describe food (there's
even Pizza Orgasmica in San Francisco), I recall what Joseph
Henry Shorthouse (1834-1903) said when admirers deplored
Wordsworth’s admission that he might have gotten drunk at
Cambridge: “In all probability, Wordsworth’s standard of
intoxication was miserably low’ “--

I've always wanted to know how Red Lobster makes their coleslaw. It has a
taste I haven't been able to quite duplicate. I make other coleslaw that I
enjoy, but this one just stumps me.

Some one on the Cruise Critic boards posted this one. It's got to be my
favorite out of the thousands I have saved from the net over the years.

BTW, I also have a recipe for making home made Galliano.

If I can find close approximations (fairly easy to do) of recipes I
use, I'll take them and alter them so I don't have to hand type them
into the computer. Actually, I can't think of any recipe I follow
verbatim.... including my own, so it means constant tweaking if I want
a recipe to stay true to me. I'm not that ambitious most of the time,
and there have been times I wish I was.

IIRC they bought big gallon jugs of some sort of coleslaw sauce from
Hardins-Sysco. I never paid much attention since I can't stand cole slaw.
Sorry!
